Abstract

Stunting is a growth and developmental disorder caused by chronic malnutrition, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life. This study aimed to determine the association between exclusive breastfeeding history and stunting among children aged 2–4 years at Posyandu Warakas RW 010 in 2022. An analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted using purposive sampling. The sample included 70 mothers and their children aged 2–4 years. Of the 70 children, 58 were not stunted, and 12 were stunted. Among the stunted children, 3 had received exclusive breastfeeding, and 9 had not. Fisher’s exact test showed a significant association between exclusive breastfeeding history and stunting incidence (p = 0.002; OR = 8.6).
