Abstract

Penelitian ini juga menelusuri fondasi genealogis dari ekspansi digital Tiongkok melalui program-program domestik seperti Project 863, Made in China 2025, dan China Standards 2035, yang menjadi dasar bagi inisiatif Digital Silk Road (DSR)./This study aims to uncover the factors behind China's success in dominating the e-commerce sector in Indonesia. Using the concept of Homo Economicus within the framework of neoliberalism, along with Michel Foucault’s genealogical method, the findings reveal two main factors. First, this dominance was made possible by the formation of Indonesian society as Homo Economicus subjects, especially after the 1998 monetary crisis, which opened Indonesia’s market to neoliberal logic. Second, China’s e-commerce success is also supported by the strategies of state-affiliated platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop, which offer massive discounts, exclusive promotions, and personalized algorithms that reinforce consumerist and calculative behavior. The combination of these factors transforms society from passive consumers into rational subjects who unconsciously support foreign digital domination. This research also traces the genealogical foundation of China’s digital expansion through domestic initiatives such as Project 863, Made in China 2025, and China Standards 2035, which serve as the groundwork for the Digital Silk Road (DSR) initiative.
