Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan kontrol diri dan intensitas bermain game online pada siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 80 Jakarta. Dengan mengetahui apakah dengan intensitas yang berkaitan dengan waktu bermain game online selama 1 hari berdampak pada kontrol diri individu yang didalamnya terdapat aspek-aspek kontrol diri yaitu kedisiplinan diri, aksi yang tidak implusif, pola hidup sehat, etika dalam mengerjakan sesuatu, dan kehandalan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah korelasional kuantitatif, dan sampel dalam peneltian ini berjumlah 121 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji statistik data yang diperoleh, data intensitas bermain game online dan kontrol diri dinyatakan berdistribusi dengan normal, karena nilai signifikansi Shapiro-Wilk sebesar p = 0,262, Uji normalitas data diketahui bahwa jika nilai p > 0.05 maka data dikatakan normal. Hasil uji korelasi diperoleh pada nilai P-value Pearson’s. sebesar 0,983 (p < 0,05), maka dapat dikatakan bahwa variabel kontrol diri tidak berkorelasi dan tidak signifikan dengan variabel intensitas bermain game online, sehingga Ho diterima. Uji korelasi ini tidak terbukti karena siswa yang mengisi pada tingkatan sedang masih mampu mengontrol dan mengendalikan diri, serta peranan orang tua yang mengingatkan dalam menyelesaikan tugas dan tanggung jawab. / This study aims to look at the relationship between self-control and the intensity of playing online games in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 80 Jakarta. By knowing whether the intensity related to the time of playing online games for 1 day has an impact on individual self-control in which there are aspects of self-control, namely self-discipline, non-impulsive action, healthy lifestyle, ethics in doing things, and reliability. The method used in this research is quantitative correlation, and the sample in this research amounted to 121 students. Based on the results of the calculation of the statistical test data obtained, the data on the intensity of playing online games and self- control are declared normally distributed, because the Shapiro-Wilk significance value is p = 0.262, the data normality test is known that if the p value> 0.05 then the data is said to be normal. The results of the correlation test were obtained at the Pearson's P-value of 0.983 (p < 0.05), so it can be said that the self-control variable is not correlated and insignificant with the variable intensity of playing online games, so Ho is accepted. This correlation test is not proven because students who fill in the moderate level are still able to control and control themselves, as well as the role of parents who remind them to complete their duties and responsibilities.
