Abstract

Penelitian ini menjelasakan tentang variasi kuat arus pengelasan GTAW terhadap struktur kristal, kekerasan dan kekuatan tarik dari material Stainless Steel 316 L, karena material tersebut umum digunakan sebagai bagian shell tank pada basic tank yang pembuatannya memerlukann proses pengelasan. Perlakuann panas terhadap material yang mempengaruhi nilai struktur kristal, nilai kekerasan, dan nilai kekuatan tarik material. Material uji dibedakan menjadi 3 variasi kuat arus dan 3 posisi titik pengujian yaitu kuat arus 60 A, 70 A, dan 80 A dan posisi titik pengujian Body, HAZ, dan Pusat Las. Material dipotong menggunakan gerinda tangan lalu dilakukan proses pengelasan. Hasil pengelasan tersebut lalu dilakukan pengujian, yaitu pengujian struktur kristal dengan menggunakan X-Ray Diffraction, pengujian kekerasan dengan hardness tester, pengujian kekuatan tarik dengan alat yang sama yaitu hardness tester lalu dikonversikan nilainya. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukan kondisi material setelah proses pengelasan dengan beberapa variasi kuat arus mengalami perubahan pada struktur kristal tidak berbeda jauh di antara 3 material tersebut, sedangkan pada kekerasan dan kekuatan tarik nya mengalami perubahan. Kata Kunci : Variasi kuat arus pengelasan GTAW, X-Ray Diffraction, Hardness, kekuatan tarik, Stainless Steel 316 L. / This study explains the strong variation of GTAW welding current on the crystal structure, hardness and tensile strength of 316 L Stainless Steel material, because the material is commonly used as a shell tank part in basic tanks whose manufacture requires a welding process. The heat treatment of the material affects the crystal structure value, hardness value, and tensile strength value of the material. The test material is divided into 3 variations in current strength and 3 test point positions, namely current strength 60 A, 70 A, and 80 A and the position of the testing point Body, HAZ, and Weld Center. The material is cut using a hand grinder and then the welding process is carried out. The welding results are then tested, namely crystal structure testing using X-Ray Diffraction, hardness testing with a hardness tester, tensile strength testing with the same tool, namely a hardness tester and then converted the value. . From the results of the study showed that the condition of the material after the welding process with some variations in current strength changed in crystal structure not much different between the 3 materials, while in hardness and tensile strength it underwent changes.
