Abstract

Vanuatu adalah salah satu negara kawasan Pasifik Selatan dan anggota dari Melanesia Spearhead Group (MSG). Vanuatu selalu aktif menyuarakan isu pelanggaran HAM Papua yang dilakukan Indonesia di dunia internasional, serta mengangkat ’jargon’ kemerdekaan Papua dari Indonesia. Penelitian ini berupaya mengkaji dan dan menganalisis secara rasional serta komprehensif tentang motivasi Vanuatu dalam melakukan kebijakan bersuara lantang terhadap isu pelanggaran HAM dan kemerdekaan Papua di dunia internasional. Rencana hasil dari penelitian ini mampu mengetahui secara eksplisit tentang kepentingan-kepentingan strategis yang menjadi motivasi Vanuatu dalam dukungannya terhadap penyelesaian isu HAM dan berpisahnya Papua dari Indonesia. / Vanuatu is one of the South Pacific region countries and a member of the Melanesia Spearhead Group (MSG). Vanuatu has always been active in voicing the issue of Papuan human rights violations committed by Indonesia internationally, as well as raising the 'jargon' of Papua's independence from Indonesia. This research seeks to review and analyze rationally and comprehensively about Vanuatu's motivation in making a sound policy on the issue of human rights violations and Papua's independence internationally. The plan as a result of this research is able to know explicitly about the strategic interests that motivate Vanuatu in its support for solving human rights issues and the separation of Papua from Indonesia
