Abstract

Nira Sulianti: Hubungan Antara Komunikasi Guru-Orang Tua Dan Profesionalisme Guru Dengan Motivasi Berprestasi Siswa Primary di Global Jaya International School Bintaro Tangerang. Tesis, Jakarta : program Pascasarjana Universitas Kristen Indonesia, Jakarta 2013. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan antara Komunikasi Guru-Orang Tua dan Profesionalisme Guru dengan Motivasi Berprestasi Siswa Primary di Global Jaya International Schhol di Bintaro Tangerang. Variabel bebas yaitu Komunikasi Guru-Orang Tua (X1) dan Profesionalisme Guru (X2). Sedangkan variable terikatnya adalah Motivasi Berprestasi Siswa (Y). Sebagai sampel penelitian, penulis memilih 30 guru secara acak. Sisanya digunakan sebagai sampel untuk alat uji instrument. Instrumen yang digunakan sebagai alat pengumpul data terdiri dari 44 pertanyaan variable X1, 44 pertanyaan dari variable X2 dan 44 pertanyaan variable Y. Pada perhitungan validitas dan reliabilitas instrument menggunakan tehnik korelasional dengan rumus Korelasi Product Moment dan uji reliabilitas dengan rumus Alpha Cronbach diperoleh instrument yang valid dan reliable variable X1 35 butir, variable X2 35 butir dan variable Y 39 butir. Data berasal dari populasi yang berdistribusi normal, linier, dan homogen. Pengujian hipotesis I diperoleh t hitung 3,680 > t table 2,048 dan nilai probabilitas 0,001 < taraf signifikansi 0,05, maka terbukti bahwa hipotesis H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hal ini berarti bahwa hubungan kedua variable tergolong kuat karena berada di rentang 0,499 – 0,599. Pada pengujian hipotesis H II diperoleh t hitung 3,492 > t table 2,048 dan nilai probabilitas 0,002 <taraf signifikansi 0,05, maka terbukti bahwa H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hal ini berarti hubungan kedua variable tergolong cukup kuat karena berada di antara rentang nilai 0,499 – 0,599. Pada pengujian hipotesis III diperoleh F hitung 9,218 > F table 4,196 dan nilai probabilitas 0,01 < taraf signifikansi 0,05, maka terbukti bahwa hipotesis H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hal tersebut berarti terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara komunikasi guru-orang tua ddan profesionalisme guru dengan motivasi berprestasi siswa Primary Global Jaya International School. Koefisien korelasi ganda Komunikasi Guru-Orang Tua (X1) dan Profesionalisme Guru (X2) dengan Motivasi Berprestasi Siswa (Y) didapat sebesar 0,637 dengan koefisien diterminasi (R square) sebesar 0,406 Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa : 1) terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan sedang antara Komunikasi guru-Orang Tua (X1) dengan Motivasi berprestasi Siswa di GJIS. 2) Terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan sedang antara Profesionalisme Guru dengan Motivasi Berprestasi Siswa di GJIS, 3) Terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan sedang antara Komunikasi Guru-Orang tua (X1) dan Profesionalisme Guru (X2) secara bersama sama dengan Motivasi Berprestasi Siswa Primary di GJIS Bintaro Tangerang. Berdasarkan kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian, menyarankan agar peningkatan mutu komunikasi guru dan dan orang tua terus menerus dilakukan. Kedua pihak perlu menggunakan sebuah media komunikasi secara maksimal agar komunikasi 2 arah terus terjadi dan kedua pihak dapat mendukung pembelajaran vii Universitas Kristen Indonesia siswa secara optimum. Begitu pula dengan profesionalisme guru, peneliti menyarankan agar guru membagikan pengalaman suksesnya dalam dunia pendidikan dan nantinya harus diapresiasi oleh sekolah sehingga memotivasi guru lain untuk terus menerus meningkatkan profesionalisme mereka. The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between TeacherParent Communication and Teacher Professionalism to the achievement Motivation of Primary Students in Global Jaya International School, Bintaro Tangerang. Independent variable is Teacher-Parents Communication (X1), Teacher Professionalism (X2) and the dependent variable is the Students’ Achievement Motivation. As the research samples, the researcher selected 30 teachers out of the population randomly. The rest were used as the samples of the instrument validation. The Instrument that was used a data collection tool consist of 44 questions of the variable X1, 44 questions of the variable X2 and 44 questions of variable Y. In the calculation of the validity and reliability of the instrument using correlational techniques Product Moment Correlation formula and test reliability with Cronbach Alpha formula obtained a valid and reliable instrument variable X1 39 items, the variable X2, 39 and variable Y 41 items. The data comes from a normally distributed population, linear and homogeneous. The testing of the hypothesis I were obtained fromt count 3.680 > t table 2.048 and 0.001 probability value is < significance level of 0.05, so it was proved that the hypothesis H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. When testing the hypothesis II obtained t count 3.492 > t table 2.048 and 0.002 probability value is < significance level of 0.05 it is evident that the hypothesis H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. When testing the hypothesis III obtained F count 9.218 > F table 4.196 and 0.01 probability value < significance level of 0.05 it is evident that the hypothesis H0 was rejected and H1 accepted. Teacher Parent Communication multiple correlation coefficient X1 and Teacher Professionalism X2 with Students’ Achievement Motivation (Y) obtained at 0.637 terminated coefficient (R square) of 0.406. This shows that: 1) There is a positive and medium significant correlation between X1 and Y. 2) There is positive and medium significant correlation between X2 and Y. 3) There is a positive and medium significant correlation between Teacher-Parent Communication (X1) and Teacher Professionalism (X2) together with the Students’ Achievement Motivation (Y) at GJIS Bintaro Tangerang. Based on the conclusion of the research results, the researcher suggested that the communication between teachers and parents have to be maintained at all times. Both parties need to make maximal use of communication so that they can give optimum support to students’ learning. The same thing goes to Teacher Professionalism, the researcher suggested that teachers need to share their Universitas Kristen Indonesia ix successful teaching experiences and that have to be appreciated by School.
