Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui peran orangtua di dalam menangani anak autisme yang sedang mengikuti program terapi di Pusat Penanganan Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus Kenosis. Partisipan penelitian ini terdiri dari empat orangtua dan empat anak autisme. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi data. Temuan hasil penelitian ini adalah: Peran orang tua sangat penting, karena mereka adalah orang yang paling mengetahui kondisi anak. karena dengan pemahaman yang baik tentang hal ini, orang tua akan selektif mencari jalan keluar untuk anak berkaitan dengan pusat terapi maupun program, keterlibatan orang tua di setiap program sangat di harapkan untuk memberikan semangat anak, dan kemampuan finansial sangat menentukan di dalam melaksanakan program untuk anak. Orang tua sebagai manager dan supervisor di segala aktivitas yang di lakukan agar bisa mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan. Pusat terapi mengharapkan orang tua dapat melanjutkan program terapi dirumah sehingga tercapai hasil yang diinginkan di dalam penanganan anak autisme. Kata Kunci: Peran, Orangtua, Anak, Autisme, Kemandirian. / The purpose of this research is to find out the role of parents in guiding children with Autism who are studying therapy program at the Center for handling children with special needs Kenosis. The participants of this research consisted of four parents and four children of Autism. Data is collected by interview, observation and documentation. The validity of the data used data triangulation techniques. The findings of this study are: The role of parents in dealing with children with autism is apparently very important and must be done by parents, because parents are the people who know the child's condition, good understanding of autism, parents will be selective and careful in finding solutions for children related to the therapy center and the types of activities that will be carried out, Parental involvement in every activity and program is expected to give morale to the child, and as a guide to be able to handle other matters outside the therapy center or school for the good of the child in the field of social interaction in the community,Financial is very crucial in doing and planning programs related to children.Parents as managers and supervisors in all activities carried out in order to achieve the xpected goals.
