Abstract

Individu yang bekerja merawat individu lain yang mengalami peristiwa traumatis dapat mengalami kondisi berupa compassion fatigue. Compassion fatigue terdiri atas burnout dan stres traumatis sekunder. Apabila burnout adalah kelelahan akibat beban kerja, stres traumatis sekunder adalah sebuah kondisi apabila seorang individu memiliki gejala seperti gangguan stres pasca trauma tanpa mengalami peristiwa traumatis secara langsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi compassion fatigue pada penyelamat hewan di Jabodetabek menggunakan kuesioner skala Professional Quality of Life (Pro-QOL). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus-Oktober 2019 dan berhasil didapatkan 33 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mayoritas penyelamat hewan memiliki level compassion satisfaction menengah dan tinggi (masing-masing 45,5%), burnout rendah (60,6%) dan stres traumatis sekunder menengah (81,8%). Simpulan: Penyelamat hewan di Jabodetabek memiliki kapasitas diri yang baik untuk mengelola stres akibat kerja dan memiliki lingkungan kerja yang baik. Kata kunci: compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction, skala Pro-QOL. / Individuals who work to care for other individuals who experience a traumatic event can experience a conditions named compassion fatigue. Compassion fatigue consists of burnout and secondary traumatic stress. If burnout is fatigue due to workload, secondary traumatic stress is a condition when an individual has symptoms reflecting post traumatic stress disorder without experiencing a traumatic event directly. This study aims to identify compassion fatigue in animal rescuers in Jakarta using Professional Quality of Life (Pro-QOL) scale between August 2019 – October 2019. In total, 33 animal rescuers were surveyed as part of data collection. The results showed the majority of animal rescuers had medium and high compassion satisfaction levels (45,5% each), low burnout (60,6%) and medium secondary traumatic stress (81,8%). Conclusion: Animal rescuers in Jabodetabek have good self-capacity to manage workrelated stress and have a good work environment. Keywords: compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction, Pro-QOL Scale
