Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat derajat keasaaman saliva pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 yang dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan rongga mulut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif observatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 30 sampel yang dikumpulkan di Poli Penyakit Dalam dan Poli Gigi RSU UKI Jakarta. Pengumpulan sampel menggunakan metode spitting method. Dari 30 sampel, didapatkan 19 sampel (63.3%) yang memiliki pH saliva rendah. Hal ini terjadi karena diabetes melitus berhubungan dengan terjadinya metabolisme anaerob yang dapat mempengaruhi derajat keasaman cairan saliva. Kata kunci : Diabetes melitus tipe 2, pH, saliva The aim of this study is to observe at the degree of salivary severity of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus that can affect the health of the oral cavity. This study uses descriptive observative methods. The sample in this study consist of 30 samples collected at the Internal Medicine Poly and Dental Poly UKI Hospital in Jakarta. The sample is collected uses the spitting method. From 30 samples, 19 samples (63.3%) were obtained which had a low salivary pH. This happens because of diabetes mellitus associated with anaerobes which can affect the acidity of salivary fluid. Keywords : Diabetes mellitus type 2, pH, saliva
