Abstract

Nikotin adalah bahan kimia yang mengandung nitrogen, yang dibuat oleh beberapa jenis tanaman, termasuk tanaman tembakau. Nikotin pada rokok dan vape sama-sama berbahaya. Efek nikotin tidak hanya menyebabkan kecanduan tetapi juga menyebabkan efek pada beberapa organ tubuh, seperti GI tract, paru paru, dan jantung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengetahuan dan sikap mahasiswa terhadap efek yang dapat ditimbulkan oleh nikotin. Penlitian, dilaksanakan pada Desember 2019 menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional dengan sampel penelitian mahasiswa pre-klinik FK UKI 2019. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuisioner dilanjutkan pengolahan data dengan SPSS for windows version 22. Hasil gambaran pengetahuan didapatkan 35 responden (79,54%) pada kategori sedang, 8 responden (18,1%) di kategori kurang, dan hanya 1 responden (2,36%) pada kategori baik. Hasil gambaran sikap didapatkan hasil terbanyak pada S (setuju) pada setiap pernyataan. Kesimpulan pada penelitian adalah mahasiswa pre-klinik FK UKI 2019 berpengetahuan sedang tentang efek nikotin vape dan rokok terhadap tubuh, serta sebagian besar mahasiswa setuju dengan menggunakan aturan dilarang menggunakan vape dan rokok di sekitar area kampus. Kata Kunci: pengetahuan, sikap, nikotin, vape, rokok. / Nicotine is a nitrogen-containing chemical, which is made by several types of plants, including the tobacco plant. The nicotine in cigarettes and ecigarettes is just as dangerous. The effects of nicotine not only cause addiction but also cause effects on several organs in the body, such as the GI tract, lungs, and heart. This study aims to determine the knowledge and attitudes of students to the effects that nicotine can cause. The study was conducted in December 2019 using aapproach cross-sectional with a sample of pre-clinic FK UKI 2019 students. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire followed by data processing with SPSS for windows version 22. The results of the description of knowledge obtained were 35 respondents (79.54%) in the medium category, 8 respondents (18.1%) in the poor category, and only 1 respondent (2.36%) in the good category. The results of the attitude description obtained the most results on S (agree) on each statement. The conclusion in the study was that the 2019 FK UKI preclinic students had moderate knowledge of the effects of vape nicotine and cigarettes on the body, and most students agreed to use the prohibition of using e-cigarettes and cigarettes around the campus area.
