Abstract
Bilas mulut yang alami, aman, hemat biaya, tersedia dan diterima secara budaya diperlukan sebagai tambahan untuk menyikat gigi secara rutin untuk memerangi penyakit gigi. Berkumur dengan larutan NaCl 0,9M dan Chlorehexdine Gluconate 0,2% dapat mengurangi jumlah bakteri di dalam rongga mulut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan larutan NaCl 0,9M dan Chlorehexidine Gluconate 0,2% terhadap penurunan jumlah kuman di rongga mulut mahasiswa FK UKI Angkatan 2018. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan mengusap rongga mulut mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Tiga puluh dua sampel mahasiswa memenuhi kriteria inklusi, hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara kuantitatif, Clorehexidine Gluconate 0,2% dapat menurunkan jumlah bakteri sebesar 89,25% sedangkan larutan NaCl 0,9M hanya mampu menurunkan jumlah bakteri sebesar 27,05%, dengan hasil uji t dependent p<0.005, yang menunjukkan kedua larutan efektif untuk menurunkan jumlah kuman di rongga mulut. Bakteri yang ditemukan pada penelitian ini adalah bakteri Gram positif berbentuk bulat. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah kedua larutan dapat menurunkan jumlah koloni bakteri di dalam mulut secara signifikan dan bilas air garam dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif untuk menghambat plak mekanik secara rutin pada pencegahan penyakit mulut. Kata kunci : Obat kumur, Chlorehexidine Gluconate 0,2%, NaCl 0,9M, bakteri, karies gigi. / Mouth rinse that is natural, safe, cost-effective, readily available and culturally acceptable is required as an adjunct to routine tooth brushing to combat dental diseases. Gargling with 0.9 M NaCl solution and Chlorehexdine Gluconate 0,2% can reduce the number of bacteria in the oral cavity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using 0,9M NaCl solution and Chlorehexidine Gluconate 0,2% for decreasing the number of germs in the oral cavity of FK UKI Class 2018 students. This study was conducted experimentally by wiping the oral cavity of students before and after treatment. Thirty-two student samples met the inclusion criteria. The results showed quantitatively, Clorehexidine Gluconate 0.2% could reduce the number of bacteria by 89.25% while 0.9M NaCl solution was only able to reduce the number of bacteria by 27.05%, with the results of T dependent test p <0.005, which shows both solutions are effective in reducing the number of germs in the oral cavity. The results of the identification of this study found positive Gram round bacteria. The conclusion from this study shows that both mouthwash can significantly reduce the number of bacterial colonies in the mouth and salt water rinse can be used as adjunct to routine mechanical plaque control for prevention of oral diseases.
