Abstract

Candida albicans adalah jamur dismorfik yang dilaporkan mengalami resistensi terhadap antijamur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antijamur ekstrak biji alpukat terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium dengan pendekatan post test control group design only. Biji alpukat diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut metanol 98%. Pengujian aktivitas antijamur menggunakan metode difusi cakram kertas. Hasil pengujian aktivitas antijamur melalui 5 kali pengulangan didapatkan ekstrak biji alpukat memiliki aktivitas antijamur terhadap C. albicans dengan rerata zona hambat terbesar pada konsentrasi 100% yaitu 11,36 mm sedangkan terkecil pada konsentrasi 10%, yaitu 6,92 mm. Pengujian dengan menggunakan metode ANOVA didapatkan nilai p= 0,000 (p<0,05) yang berarti terdapat perbedaan bermakna rerata diameter zona hambat antar konsentrasi ekstrak biji alpukat . Kata Kunci : Biji alpukat, Persea americana Mill,ekstrak, antijamur, Candida albicans Candida albicans is a dysmorphic fungus which has been reported to be resistant to antifungals. This study was to determine the activity of avocado seed extract in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans using true experimental method with post test control group design only approach. Avocado seed was extracted by maceration method using methanol 98%. Antifungal activity was studied using paper disc diffusion method. The result repeated 5ⅹ obtained that concentration of avocado seed extract had antifungal activity against C. albicans with the largest average inhibition zone at 100% is 11.36 mm while the smallest average antifungal activity at 10%, is 6.92 mm. Analysis using ANOVA method show p value=0,000 (p<0,05) which means that there is a significant difference in candida albicans inhibition zone diameter at various concentration of avocado seed extract.
