Abstract

Walkability merupakan salah satu bagian dalam mewujudkan perencanaan dan perancangan kota yang berkelanjutan dan layak huni. Kawasan pendidikan merupakan salah satu kawasan di wilayah perkotaan yang memiliki tingkat permasalahan yang kompleks dan dinamis. Pada koridor jalan M.A Turungku, terdapat berbagai fungsi pendidikan yang dimulai dari tingkat dasar, menengah, hinga atas. Tarikan dari keberadaan fungsi pendidikan pada koridor jalan M.A Turungku ini mengakibatkan tumbuhnya fungsi komersial yang diikuti dengan dampaknya terhadap penurunan kualitas lingkungan yang berdampak pada kenyamanan aktivitas berjalan kaki, khususnya bagi para pelajar. Dalam penelitian ini, peningkatan walkability pada koridor jalan M.A Turungku dikaji melalui pendekatan skala manusia berbasis kegiatan pelajar. Analisa skala manusia terdiri dari rangkaian analisa kognisi spasial, kenyamanan penginderaan manusia, pengamatan pergerakan dan perilaku pejalan kaki, yang diikuti dengan pemahaman preferensi pejalan kaki. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan rasionalistik dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi secara sistematis dan kuesioner. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kenyamanan penginderaan manusia saat berjalan kaki pada mendapatkan nilai tidak nyaman. Sedangkan pada hasil analisa pergerakan dan perilaku pejalan kaki, pada waktu siang hari di segmen 2 koridor jalan aktivitas ruang luar terjadi sangat dinamis dimana terbentuk kegiatan utama (necessary activity), tambahan (optional activity), dan lanjutan (following activity) dari pejalan kaki. Dari seluruh hasil analisa didapatkan hasil rancangan koridor jalan menjadi 15 m yang dapat mengakomodir berbagai zona bagi kenyamanan aktivitas berjalan kaki dari para pelajar sebagai bagian dalam penerapan konsep walkability skala manusia periodik pada koridor jalan M.A Turungku. Kata kunci: Kawasan pendidikan, Walkability, Skala manusia. / Walkability is one part of realizing sustainable and livable urban planning and design. The education area is one of the areas in urban areas that has a complex and dynamic level of problems. In the M.A Turungku street corridor there are various educational functions starting from the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. The attraction of the existence of educational functions in the M.A Turungku road corridor resulted in the growth of commercial functions followed by its impact on environmental quality degradation has an impact on the comfort of walking activities, especially for students. Therefore, this research will study the improvement of walkability on the M.A Turungku road corridor through a human scale approach based on student activities. Human scale analysis consists of a series of analyzes of spatial cognition, human sensing comfort, as well as mapping pedestrian movement and behavior followed by understanding pedestrian preferences. The research approach employs a rationalistic method with data collection techniques through systematic observation and questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the comfort level of human perception while walking is perceived as uncomfortable. Meanwhile, the analysis of pedestrian movement and behavior during daytime in segment 2 of M.A Turungku street corridor reveals highly dynamic outdoor space activities, characterized by necessary activity, additional activities, and following activity among pedestrians. From all the analysis results, it was found that the design of the road corridor was 15 m which could accommodate various zones for comfortable walking activities for students as part of the application of the periodic human scale walkability concept in the M.A Turungku road corridor.
