Abstract

Sebagai produser dalam memproduksi video dokumenter, seorang produser harus mengetahui perannya dalam menyusun perencanaan yang terstruktur dan menciptakan alur produksi yang baik dan efisien. Laporan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan peran produser dalam memproduksi video dokumenter The Deaf Village melalui tiga tahapan produksi, yakni pra-produksi, produksi, dan pascaproduksi. Pada tahap pra-produksi, seorang produser mengumpulkan data lisan dari warga Desa Bengkala atau warga Bali lainnya yang mengetahui sejarah terjadinya kolok di Desa Bengkala. Desa Bengkala adalah desa istimewa dengan komunitas tuli dan bisu yang cukup tinggi, dengan sekitar 2% dari keseluruhan penghuni desa lahir dalam keadaan kolok. Dalam proses produksi video The Deaf Village yang dilakukan pada bulan Februari, produser menyampaikan ide dan konsepnya kepada kru yang terlibat agar setiap individu memahami dan menyetujui ide dan konsep yang dibuat oleh produser. Hal ini memastikan bahwa proses pembuatan video dokumenter The Deaf Village berjalan dengan baik sesuai rencana. Pada tahap pascaproduksi, produser memberikan kepercayaan penuh kepada sutradara dalam proses penyuntingan namun tetap memantau hasil akhir untuk memastikan keselarasan dengan konsep awal. Oleh karena itu, produser berperan penting dalam proses produksi karena bertanggung jawab penuh untuk mengontrol, mengawasi, dan mengkoordinasikan semua kru yang terlibat demi kelancaran produksi. Kata Kunci : Bisu dan tuli, Bali, Desa Kolok, Produser. / As a producer in the production of documentary videos, a producer must understand their role in structuring a well-organized plan and creating an efficient and smooth production flow. This report aims to explain the producer's role in producing the documentary video The Deaf Village through three stages of production: pre-production, production, and post-production. In the pre-production stage, a producer gathers verbal data from residents of Bengkala Village or other Balinese people who know the history of the kolok in Bengkala Village. Bengkala Village is a unique village with a high community of deaf and mute individuals, with about 2% of the total population born as kolok. During the production of the video The Deaf Village in February, the producer conveyed their ideas and concepts to the involved crew to ensure that each individual understands and agrees with the ideas and concepts created by the producer. This ensures that the production of the documentary video The Deaf Village runs smoothly according to the plan. In the post-production stage, the producer gives full trust to the director in the editing process but still monitors the final result to ensure alignment with the initial concept. Therefore, the producer plays a crucial role in the production process as they are fully responsible for controlling, supervising, and coordinating all the involved crew for a smooth production.
