Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic affects people's mental health. Indonesia's confirmed number of Covid-19 as of July 15, 2021 reached 2,726,803 cases with an additional 56,757 cases and the number of deaths from Covid-19 as many as 70,192 cases. Community compliance with implementing the Covid-19 health protocol plays an important role as an effort to deal with Covid-19 in Indonesia. The study aims to find out the level of knowledge about Covid-19, the level of anxiety about Covid-19, and the level of compliance with health protocols to prevent Covid-19 transmission as well as the relationship between knowledge level variables, anxiety levels, and compliance levels. This study is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted in July - August 2021 at Medicine Faculty of Universitas Kristen Indonesia. Research instruments for data collection use knowledge questionnaires about Covid-19, Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A) anxiety questionnaires, and Covid-19 health protocol compliance questionnaires. Sampling technique using proportionate stratified random sampling with a sample number of 246 students. The data was analyzed using a chi-square statistical test. Research shows that 147 students (59.8%) have a good knowledge of Covid-19. 133 students (54.1%) experienced anxiety. 129 students (52.4%) have good adherence to the Covid-19 health protocol. Chi-square statistical test results showed there is significant relationship between anxiety levels and Covid-19 health protocol compliance levels (p value = 0.007 < 0.05) and no association between the level of knowledge about Covid-19 and the level of anxiety about Covid-19 (p value = 0.341 > 0.05) and the level of compliance with the Covid-19 health protocol (p value = 0.448 > 0.05). Conclusion: Medical students of Universitas Kristen Indonesia have a good level of compliance with the Covid-19 health protocol. Adherence to health protocols can have a good impact on students' mental health. Students with good compliance tend to experience milder anxiety.
