Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi hubungan antara self control dan perhatian orangtua terhadap procrastination akademik siswa kelas XI IPS di SMAN 30 Jakarta. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 100 siswa kelas XI IPS yang dipilih secara acak. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan skala self control, skala perhatian orangtua, dan skala procrastination akademik. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik statistik korelasi dan regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara self control dan procrastination akademik, serta hubungan positif yang signifikan antara perhatian orangtua dan procrastination akademik. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa perhatian orangtua memediasi hubungan antara self control dan procrastination akademik. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi penting dalam pengembangan strategi dan intervensi untuk mengurangi procrastination akademik siswa. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar pihak sekolah dan orangtua bekerja sama dalam memberikan pendampingan dan pengawasan yang efektif untuk meningkatkan self control dan mengurangi procrastination akademik siswa. Kata Kunci: self control, perhatian orangtua, prokrastinasi akademik. / This study aims to investigate the relationship between self control and parental attention towards academic procrastination among 11th-grade students majoring in social sciences at SMAN 30 Jakarta. The research sample consisted of 100 11th-grade social science students selected randomly. Data were collected using the self control scale, parental attention scale, and academic procrastination scale. Data analysis was conducted using correlation and regression techniques. The results of the study revealed a significant negative relationship between self control and academic procrastination, as well as a significant positive relationship between parental attention and academic procrastination. Furthermore, it was found that parental attention mediated the relationship between self control and academic procrastination. These findings have important implications for the development of strategies and interventions to reduce student academic procrastination. Therefore, it is recommended that schools and parents collaborate to provide effective support and supervision to enhance self control and reduce academic procrastination among students.
