Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan dalam menerjemahkan kata-kata budaya dalam novel Bumi Manusia. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini berupa kata dan frasa yang mengandung kata budaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik catat untuk memperoleh data penelitian. Dalam menganalisis data penelitian, peneliti menggunakan teori Newmark untuk menganalisis kategori kata budaya dan teori Molina dan Albir dalam untuk menganalisis teknik penerjemahan. Hasil penelitian ditampilkan oleh peneliti dalam bentuk tabel dan uraian lengkap berdasarkan analisis yang tepat dan akurat. Dalam analisis kata budaya, peneliti menemukan 36 (tiga puluh enam) kata budaya berdasarkan kategorinya masing-masing. 4 (empat) budaya sosial, 1 (satu) ekologi, 11 (sebelas) budaya material, 5 (lima) gerak tubuh dan kebiasaan, dan 15 (lima belas) kategori organisasi. Pada analisis teknik penerjemahan, terdapat 7 (tujuh) teknik adaptasi, 9 (sembilan) teknik peminjaman, 2 (dua) teknik penggantian, 3 (tiga) teknik generalisasi, 5 (lima) teknik deskripsi, 2 (dua) teknik amplifikasi bahasa, dan 8 (delapan) teknik padanan. / The study was conducted to find out the translation techniques are used in translating the cultural words in the novel Bumi Manusia. In this study, the researcher employed the descriptive qualitative method. The research data was collected through words and phrases containing cultural words. This research uses note-taking techniques to obtain the research data. In analyzing the research data, the researcher uses Newmark's theory to analyze the categories of cultural words and Molina and Albir's theory to study translation techniques. The research displays the results in tables and complete descriptions based on precise and accurate analysis. In the study of the word culture, the researcher found in an analysis of cultural words; the researcher found 36 (thirty-six) cultural words based on their respective categories. 4 (four) social cultures, 1 (one) ecology, 11 (eleven) material cultures, 5 (five) gestures and habits, and 15 (fifteen) organization categories. The category of cultural words often found in that novel is a category of organization. In analyzing translation techniques, there are 7 (seven) adaptations, 9 (nine) borrowings, 2 (two) substitutions, 3 (three) generalizations, 5 (five) descriptions, 2 (two) linguistic amplification, and 8 (eight) establish equivalent techniques.
