Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat penggunaan konseptual metafora dan teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan dalam subtitle yang mengandung konseptual metafora. Dasar penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik MDAP (Manual Data Analisis Prosedur) melalui pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi data. Dalam penelitian ini berlandaskan teori Molina dan Albir (2002: 510-511) dan buku berjudul Teknik Penerjemahan Kalimat Bahasa Inggris Berbasis 16 Tenses ditulis oleh Gunawan Tambunsari dalam menganalisis jenis teknik penerjemahan dan teori Lakoff dan Johnson (2008) dalam menganalisis jenis teknik konseptual metafora. Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan 3 jenis konseptual metafora yang terdiri atas 8 struktural metafora, 5 orientasi metafora, dan 9 ontologikal metafora. Kemudian peneliti menemukan 10 teknik penerjemahan yang meliputi 1 peminjaman, 1 deskripsi, 4 diskursi kreasi, 4 pembentukan kesepadanan, 2 generalisasi, 2 kompresi linguistic, 1 literal, 5 modulasi, 1 reduksi, 1 variasi . Peneliti menemukan setiap makna konseptual metafora dan teknik penerjemahan dengan konteks yang berbeda sesuai dengan jenisnya. Adapun harapan bahwa penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat bagi penonton, pembaca, sarana referensi peneliti lainnya dan terlebih lagi untuk peminat metafora dan bidang figurative language.Sehingga memungkinkan bagi pembaca dapat lebih memahami metafora dalam karya sastra salah satunya movie, dan tertarik untuk mengunakan metafora sebagai gaya bahasa sehari-hari dengan teknik-teknik penerjemahan. / Research was conducted to reveal that there is the use of conceptual metaphors and translation techniques used in subtitles that contain conceptual metaphors.The basis of this research uses qualitative methods with the MDAP (Manual Data Analysis Procedure) technique through data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions/data verification. This research is based on the theory of Molina and Albir (2002: 510-511) and the book entitled English Sentence Translation Techniques Based on 16 Tenses written by Gunawan Tambunsari in analyzing types of translation techniques and the theory of Lakoff and Johnson (2008) in analyzing types of conceptual metaphor techniques. The results of this research found 3 types of conceptual metaphors consisting of 8 structural metaphors, 5orientation metaphors, and 9 ontological metaphors. Then the researchers found 10 translation techniques which included 1 borrowing, 1 description, 4 creative discourse, 4 establishing equivalence, 2 generalization, 2 linguistic compression, 1 literal, 5 modulation, 1 reduction, 1 variation. Researchers found each metaphor's conceptual meaning and translation technique in different contexts according to its type. The hope is that this research can be useful for viewers, readers, as a reference for other researchers and especially for those interested in metaphor and the field of figurative language. So it is possible for readers to better understand metaphors in literary works, one of which is films, and be interested in using metaphors as a style of everyday language with translation techniques.
