Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang persepsi siswa terhadap buku teks Bahasa Inggris kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 80 Jakatra. Masalah utama yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana siswa memandang buku pelajaran bahasa Inggris sebagaisumber belajar.Jumlah populasi kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 80 Jakarta adalah 288 dan sampel yang saya jadikan sebagai target penelitian adalah kela VIII A, B, dan E dengan total 108 orang dengan total masing-masing kelas 36 orang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap buku pelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk kelas selanjutnya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa tentang penggunaan buku pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 80 Jakarta adalah 3,99. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa terhadap penggunaan buku teks bahasa Inggris dalam pelajaran bahasa Inggris adalah netral. Kata kunci. Persepsi siswa, kelas VIII, buku teks bahasa Inggris. / This study discusses students' perceptions of English textbooks for class VIII at SMP Negeri 80 Jakarta. The main problem raised in this study is how students view English textbooks as learning resources. The population of class VIII SMP Negeri 80 Jakarta is 288 and the sample that I made as the research target was class VIII A, B, and E, totaling 108 people with a total of 36 students in each class. The purpose of this study was to determine students' perceptions that English textbooks were useful for the next class. The type of research used is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires. The results showed that the student's perception of the use of English textbooks in English lessons is neutral.
