Abstract

Latar Belakang: Bell ’s palsy merupakan keadaan yang menyerang saraf facialis perifer sehingga mengakibatkan kelemahan dan kelumpuhan pada wajah. Bell ’s palsy terjadi akibat proses non-supuratif, non neo-plasmatik, non neo-degeneratif primer. Tujuan: Mengetahui penatalaksanaan fisioterapi untuk meningkatkan kekuatan otot wajah dan meningkatkan aktivitas fungsional wajah dengan menggunakan modalitas Infrared, Electrical Stimulation, dan Mirror Exercise. Metode: Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kasus pengumpulan data kepada 1 orang pasien dengan kondisi Bell’s Palsy Dextra di Rumah Sakit St. Carolus pada tanggal 01 Maret 2023 dengan menggunakan intervensi Infrared, Electrical Stimulation dan terapi latihan berupa Mirror Exercise. Hasil: Setelah melakukan 3 kali terapi, didapatkan hasil peningkatan kekuatan otot-otot wajah. Kesimpulan: Infrared, Electrical Stimulation dan Mirror Exercise dapat meningkatkan kekuatan otot wajah pada kondisi Bell’s Palsy Dextra. / Background: Bell's palsy is a condition that attacks the peripheral facial nerve resulting in weakness and paralysis of the face. Bell's palsy occurs as a result of a primary non-suppurative, non-neoplastic, non-neo-degenerative process. Objective: Knowing the management of physiotherapy to increase facial muscle strength and improve facial functional activity using Infrared, Electrical Stimulation, and Mirror Exercise modalities. Methods: The method used is a case study of collecting data on 1 patient with Bell's palsy Dextra at St. Carolus on March 1, 2023 using Infrared intervention, Electrical Stimulation, and exercise therapy in the form of Mirror Exercise. Results: After 6 treatments, the result was an increase in the strength of the facial muscles. Conclusion: Infrared, Electrical Stimulation, and Mirror Exercise can increase facial muscle strength in Bell's palsy Dextra.
