Abstract

Stroke is a disease caused by circulatory disorders of the brain that are affected by many risk factors with clinical symptoms in the form of neurological deficits and decreased motor function. This study aims to determine the rehabilitation time needed by post-stroke patients with a history of hypertension and a history of diabetes mellitus until the achievement of recovery of neurological deficits and increased motor function in the National Brain Center Hospital in 2016-2017. The method used in this study is descriptive. The sample in this study were all patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic post-stroke who were undergoing rehabilitation at the National Brain Center Hospital in 2016-2017. The results showed that the most types of stroke were ischemic stroke (82.2%), male sex (63.4%) with age groups over 50 years with a history of diabetes mellitus (86.1%) requiring more than 1 month until neurological deficit recovery was achieved and less than 1 month until an increase in motor function is achieved. Key words: stroke, history of hypertension, history of diabetes mellitus, recover neurological dificits, increase in motor function.
