Abstract

Gedung CTC Kramat Raya Kawasan Senen Jakarta merupakan gedung bersejarah yang mewadahi aktivitas ekspor impor diperkirakan dibangun pada tahun 1950-1960. Gedung ini didesain dengan langgam Arsitektur Modern yang pada masa itu banyak digunakan oleh Presiden Soekarno dalam membentuk karakter Jakarta sebagai kota modern dan internasional. Presiden sebagai seorang arsitek banyak menaruh perhatian pada bangunan-bangunan yang dirancang pada masa pemerintahannya dan diarahkan untuk menyesuaikan dengan kondisi lingkungan serta budaya Indonesia. Dari elemen elemen arsitekturnya, gedung ini memiliki karakter dan nilai arsitektural tinggi. Melalui bentuk gedung yang memiliki penekanan di tengah dan sirip yang sejajar dengan peletakan, mengikuti sudut atau pola tapak membentuk serial vison yang menarik. Identitas dan muatan budaya memberikan nilai lebih pada gedung, Namun demikian gedung saat ini tidak difungsikan secara optimal dan belum dimasukkan dalam daftar bangunan Cagar Budaya. Keberadaan gedung dalam kawasan Senen memiliki keterkaitan fungsi dan sejarah, tetapi perkembangan kota memberikan dampak yang cukup besar bagi gedung, terutama pada karakter dan citra kawasan yang semakin redup. Penelitian berupaya merevitalisasi bangunan bersejarah untuk membentuk kembali karakter ruang kota di Senen. Dalam penelitian akan menerapkan metode eksploratif-deskriptif sebagai alat dalam menganalisis karakter dan elemen-elemen pembentuknya, Sedangkan metode rasionalistik-kualitatif sebagai alat dalam membentuk argumen atau pemahaman yang logis terhadap hasil analisis. Kata Kunci: Revitalisasi; Gedung CTC Kramat Raya; Karakter Ruang Kota; Kawasan Senen./ The CTC Kramat Raya Building, Senen Jakarta area is a historic building that accommodates export-import activities and is estimated to have been built in 1950-1960. This building was designed with the style of Modern Architecture which at that time was widely used by President Soekarno in shaping the character of Jakarta as a modern and international city. The President as an architect pays a lot of attention to buildings designed during his reign and are directed to adapt to the environmental conditions and Indonesian culture. From the architectural elements, this building has character and high architectural value with the shape of the building that has an emphasis in the middle and parallel fins with placement following the corners or tread patterns to form an interesting vison series. Identity and cultural content give added value to the building. However, the building is currently not functioning optimally and has not been included in the list of Cultural Conservation buildings. The existence of buildings in the Senen area is related to function and history, but the development of the city has a significant impact on buildings, especially on the character and image of buildings that are getting dimmer. The research seeks to revitalize historic buildings to reshape the character of urban space in Senen. In this research, the exploratory-descriptive method will be applied as a tool in analyzing the character and its constituent elements, while the rationalistic-qualitative method will be used as a tool in forming arguments or a logical understanding of the results of the analysis.
