Abstract

Krokot (Portulaca grandiflora Hook) merupakan tanaman gulma yang mempunyai berbagai manfaat dan khasiat dan secara empiris digunakan oleh masyarakat untuk pengobatan diare dan penyembuhan luka. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri, antioksidan dan tingkat toksisitas tanaman krokot. Penelitian dilakukan merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratorium menggunakan sampel batang dan daun krokot (Portulaca grandiflora Hook). Ekstraksi sampl menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96 % proanalisis (pa). Analisis yang dilakukan berupa uji antibakteri dengan metode difusi kertas cakram, uji antioksidan dengan metode 1,1-difenil-2-pikril-hidrazi (DPPH), dan uji toksisitas dengan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT). Bakteri uji yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa bakteri Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa tanaman krokot mampu menghambat pertumbuhan terendah bakteri Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus pada konsentrasi 40 % dan 60 % dengan zona hambat masing- masing sebesar 6,34 mm dan 6,40 mm. Uji antioksidan menunjukan bahwa tanaman krokot memiliki potensi sebagai antioksidan yang kuat dengan nilai Inhibition Concentration 50 % (IC50) sebesar 11,890 ppm dan vitamin C sebesar 2,658 ppm. Sedangkan hasil uji toksisitas menunjukan bahwa tanaman krokot bersifat toksik terhadap larva udang dengan nilai Lethal Concentration 50 % (LC50) sebesar 168,904 ppm. Kata kunci : Antibakteri, antioksidan, krokot, toksisitas. / Purslane (Portulaca grandiflora Hook) is a weed plant that has various benefits and properties and is empirically used by the community for the treatment of diarrhea and wound healing. The research conducted aims to determine the antibacterial activity, antioxidants and toxicity levels of purslane plants. The research was conducted as a laboratory experimental study using purslane (Portulaca grandiflora Hook) stem and leaf samples. Extraction of samples using maceration method with 96% proanalyzed ethanol solvent (pa). The analysis was carried out in the form of antibacterial test with disc paper diffusion method, antioxidant test with 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazi (DPPH) method, and toxicity test with Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. The test bacteria used in the study were Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Based on the results obtained that purslane plants are able to inhibit the lowest growth of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria at concentrations of 40% and 60% with inhibition zones of 6.34 mm and 6.40 mm, respectively. Antioxidant tests show that purslane plants have the potential as a strong antioxidant with an Inhibition Concentration 50% (IC50) value of 11,890 ppm and vitamin C of 2,658 ppm. While the results of the toxicity test showed that purslane plants were toxic to shrimp larvae with a Lethal Concentration 50% (LC50) value of 168.904 ppm.
