Abstract

Diare masih merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat karena morbiditas dan mortilitasnya yang masih tinggi. Di Indonesia, diare merupakan salah satu penyebab kematian dan kesakitan tertinggi pada anak, terutama usia dibawah 5 tahun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik pasien anak dengan kejadian diare akut di Rumah Sakit UKI pada periode Januari 2015 – Desember 2015. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian retrospektif deskriptif dengan metode total sampling sebanyak 123 pasien. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mayoritas berusia 1-2 tahun (39.0%), berjenis kelamin laki-laki (61.0%), memiliki status gizi baik (63.4%), dan mengalami dehidrasi ringan-sedang (75.6%). Berdasarkan tingkat pendidikan ayah pasien mayoritas berpendidikan menengah (78.9%), ibu pasien berpendidikan menengah (74.0%) dan mayoritas ayah pasien bekerja sebagai karyawan (65.0%). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pasien dengan usia 1-2 tahun, berjenis kelamin laki-laki, status gizi baik, derajat dehidrasi ringan-sedang, orangtua dengan tingkat pendidikan menengah dan bekerja sebagai karyawan adalah karakteristik pasien anak dengan kejadian diare akut di Rumah Sakit UKI. Kata kunci : Karakteristik, Anak, Diare Akut./ Diarrhea is still a problem of public health because its high rate of morbidity and mortility. In Indonesia, diarrhea is one of the highest causes of death and pain in children, especially under 5 years. The purpose of this study is to find the characteristics of children patients with acute diarrhea at UKI Hospital on January – December 2015. This research used retrospective descriptive method with total sampling method, 123 people was recorded. This research showed mostly patient in age 1-2 years (39.0%), with male gender (61.0%), had a good nutritional status (63.4%), experienced mild-moderate dehydration (75.6%), the patient‟s father had a moderate education rate (78.9%), patient‟s mother had moderate education rate (74.0%), and patient‟s father work as an employee (65.0%). The conclusion are patient in age 1-2 years, male gender, good nutritional status, mild-moderate dehydration, parents with moderate education rate and work as employee are the characteristics of children patients with acute diarrhea at UKI Hospital.
