Abstract

Harga diri merupakan hal yang penting dalam kehidupan setiap individu. Individu yang memiliki harga diri yang cukup akan mampu menghargai orang lain, begitu sebaliknya. Dalam kehidupan dunia kedokteran, diperlukan harga diri yang cukup, karena pekerjaan yang akan dihadapi adalah melayani orang lain. Penelitian di Pakistan menyebutkan bahwa mahasiswa kedokteran perempuan memiliki harga diri yang rendah dibandingkan mahasiswa laki-laki. Ikatan antara ibu dan anak perempuan diketahui dapat memengaruhi harga diri pada anak perempuan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari hubungan antara ikatan ibu dan anak perempuan dengan penghargaan diri menggunakan desain cross sectional. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner Mother and adult daughter (MADQ) yang terdiri dari tiga dimensi (connectedness, interdependency, dan trust in hierarchy) dan Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah hubungan antara ibu dan anak perempuan memengaruhi harga diri pada dimensi connectedness dan interdependency dengan signifikansi (p=0.002 dan p=0.000) yang berarti (p<0.01) dan tidak memengaruhi harga diri dengan trust in hierarchy (p= 0.078) yang berarti (p > 0.01) Kata kunci: Ibu dan Anak Perempuan, Harga Diri, Kuesioner Ikatan Ibu dan Anak Perempuan./Self-esteem is important in the life of every individual. Individuals who have sufficient self-esteem will be able to respect others, and vice versa. In the life of the medical world, sufficient self-esteem is needed because the work to be faced is to serve others. Research in Pakistan states that female medical students have lower self-esteem than male students. The relation between mother and daughter is known to affect self-esteem in girls. The purpose of this study was to find the relationship between mother and daughter bonding with self-esteem using a cross sectional design. Data was collected using a Mother and Adult Daughter Questionnaire (MADQ) consisting of three dimensions (connectedness, interdependency, and trust in hierarchy) and Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES). The results of this study are the relationship between mother and daughter affect self-esteem in the dimensions of connectedness and interdependence with significance (p = 0.002 and p = 0.000) which means (p<0.01) and not affect self esteem in trust in hierarchy dimension with significance (p= 0.078) which means (p> 0.01).
