Abstract
This paper aimed to propose a liberating construction of Christian Religious Education (CRE). This study departs from research conducted on the Boti ethnic community in Boti Village, South Central Timor District. The Christians in the Boti community are still treated as adherents of foreign religions, whose existence is considered a threat to local culture. This fact makes Christians there unable to contribute optimally to the development of the local community. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. Conducted by Paulo Freire's thinking about critical pedagogy, it is obtained a CRE construction that is relevant to the social situation of society. CRE must be contextual, holistic, liberative and transformative by directing all resources and pedagogical efforts to produce a generation that is critical and dialogical; they have sensitivity, solidarity, and ability to analyze social issues
