Abstract

The development of internet network technology affects lifestyle and is a triggering factor for changes in working methods / systems including workplace innovation in the 20th century business world. Several behavioral studies reveal that a mobile mindset is formed in the Gen Y workforce, they can work from any location (work on the go) in the sense that work does not always come to the office like the conventional model. The evolution of work culture has led to the trend of office space design, which was originally formal and hierarchical, to become an activitybased workspace, so there is no denying the emergence of the Co-working space system. Ergin (2014: 8-11) reveals in his book about the prediction of these changes starting from the hierarchy to the network. The second phenomenon is the emergence of the Covid-19 virus pandemic starting in 2019 which triggered almost all activities based on government policies asking to work from home and this has hit the co-working business a lot at this time, some of the decline in visitors has experienced an impact, the collaborative space offered needs to refer to on the health protocol as a requirement of comfort and health. From this issue, researchers believe that there will be a positive impact for coworking space services in capturing opportunities. Researchers believe that currently almost all human activities, including workers, businessmen and students, are getting used to doing work online, so these things must be seized by opportunities for co-working service providers. Everyone will be accustomed to working from any location (work on the go) not only Gen-Y in line with the cultural evolution of technological developments. From the results of the two phenomena, there are things that need to be improved or changed in the co-working layout that meets health protocols and privacy spaces to avoid disturbance and noise in the coworking area when workers or business people hold online meetings. So the researchers believe that there will be changes in an office workspace and coworking area in particular. Researchers are interested in conducting a study of the space requirements of a coworking space and researchers are interested in submitting a study, namely; first, whether the way this online method works affects individual interest in using coworking services. Second, does the behavior of this online working style affect the need for a redesign of the co-working space. Then third, what is the pattern of space that users expect to increase comfort in the co-working space. For this reason, the researcher made a hypothesis to answer the research and conducted a precedent study as the co-working space literature of interest. With a qualitative research method approach that is supported by quantitative data. Qualitative methods to answer the layout design of co-working spaces with precedent and quantitative studies are used to approach the problem of whether or not there is an influence on the research variables, namely online work behavior in co-working services and co-working space design.
