Abstract

To have national excellent accreditation, UKI now committed to get involved in digitalisation and internationalization. Work hard among UKI academicians was the key to achieve the goal. This study was significant since it focused on lectures as the front line in higher education learning. It explained firstly, the criteria to be a leading and professional lecture that contributed to the university. Secondly, it elaborated a lecturer’s role in digitalization era in delivering the creative and innovative teaching. Thirdly, it illustrated lecturer’s efforts to engage in international globe. The methodology used in this paper is literature study which in-depth discussed the important roles of lecturers systematically to pursue excellent accreditation. This research results confirmed, first, there were four criteria for lecturers to fulfill as professional lecturers: having doctoral degree, possessing educator certificate, being technology user, conducting their three responsibility in teaching, research, and community development, and capable of conducting them using digital media. Employing various application of teaching technology, lecturers manifests the nuance of online learning. In synchronous dan asynchronous online learning, there were some applications that can pe applied to enrich lectures in teaching innovatively and creatively. To be admitted internationally, lecturers demanded to publish their articles in reputable international journals. Possessing articles in Scopus journals, honourable lecturers contributed to his or her study program and university. In conclusion, those value-added lecturers (doctoral degree, high technology lecturer, published international indexed scopus articles) were indeed professional and extraordinary lecturers.
