Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyze the language translation, or in Indonesian known as majas, and also to find out the strategies used by translators. This research was conducted using qualitative methods using Pierini's theory of figurative language (2007) and translation strategies as the theory. The author also uses a random sampling method by Moeloeng (1991) as the theory for selecting the data that is used as a sample for analysis. As the results of this research, the authors found out 11 types out of 13 types of figurative language. The author conducted with total 20 data which are 12 data of literal translation, 2 data of replacement of the vehicle with a different vehicle, 5 data of reduction of figurative speech, 1 data of retention of the same vehicle plus explication of similarity feature(s). By using these strategies, the translator succeed in translating the figurative language of source language into target language.
