Abstract
Terrorism is a real threat that we face as a nation. Over the last decade, we have witnessed a wide range of terrorism acts directed to the foreigners, political leaders, religious facilities, airports, and the other strategic places. The characteristics of terrorism in Indonesia are very diverse, ranging from those caused by social and economic frustration to the terrorism for replacing the state ideology. This paper outlined the various Indonesia policies to face off the rise of terrorism after the regime of New Order since the climate of fairness and freedom of speech had became determinant factors.
