Abstract

Pemanfaatan energi terbarukan merupakan solusi strategis dalam menghadapi krisis energi fosil dan perubahan iklim global. Salah satu sumber energi terbarukan yang potensial adalah energi surya, yang dapat dikonversi menjadi listrik menggunakan panel surya. Namun, efisiensi konversi energi ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh intensitas cahaya dan posisi panel terhadap matahari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan output daya panel surya melalui penerapan sistem otomasi berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) dengan teknologi pelacak matahari (solar tracker). Sistem ini dirancang untuk memantau dan menyesuaikan posisi panel secara real-time guna memperoleh pencahayaan maksimal. Metode yang digunakan bersifat kuantitatif, dengan pengambilan data dilakukan selama tujuh hari berturut-turut, mulai pukul 10.00 hingga 15.00. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa panel dengan sistem pelacak menghasilkan arus dan daya output yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan panel statis. Terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada daya output harian panel otomatis dibandingkan sistem konvensional. Rasio perbedaan arus mencapai nilai maksimum lebih dari 12%, sementara perbedaan tegangan menunjukkan variasi kecil namun konsisten, yang turut mendukung peningkatan performa sistem. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, sistem pelacak matahari berbasis IoT terbukti mampu meningkatkan efisiensi penyerapan energi surya, terutama dalam kondisi pencahayaan yang fluktuatif. Inovasi ini berpotensi besar untuk diterapkan sebagai solusi energi terbarukan yang efisien, adaptif, dan berkelanjutan. One of the most promising renewable energy sources is solar energy, which can be turned into electricity using solar panels. However, the amount of electricity produced by solar panels depends a lot on how much sunlight they receive and the angle of the panel toward the sun. This study aims to improve the power output of solar panels by using an automatic tracking system based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The system can move the panel in real time to follow the sun and get more sunlight. This research uses a quantitative method. Data was collected for seven days in a row, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day. The results show that panels with the tracking system produced more current and power than panels that stayed in a fixed position. The increase in current reached over 12%, and the voltage was also slightly better and more stable. In conclusion, the IoT-based solar tracking system helps improve how much energy is collected from sunlight, especially when the sunlight changes throughout the day. This system has good potential to be used as a smart, efficient, and eco-friendly energy solution. Keywords: Renewable energy, solar panel, solar tracker, IoT, automation, energy efficiency
