Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa secara menyeluruh pengaruh variasi arus pengelasan titik terhadap sifat mekanik dan metalurgi sambung pada baja LOW CARBON STEEL SPCC 590. Tujuan utama penelitian adalah untuk memahami bagaimana variasi kuat arus listrik memengaruhi kualitas sambung las. Pengelasan titik merupakan metode penyambungan yang banyak digunakan dalam industri otomotif dan manufaktur, sehingga pemahaman mendalam tentang optimasi parameternya sangat krusial untuk menjamin kualitas sambung. Metode resistance spot welding dipilih karena efesiensinya dalam penyambungan lembaran logam. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan uji tarik-geser untuk mengevaluasikan kekuatan sambung, uji kekerasan rockwel untuk mengukur kekerasan pada nugget las, daerah Heat-Affected Zone (HAZ), dan material dasar, serta analisis struktur makro dan mikro untuk mengamati morfologi nugget, ukuran butir, dan fasa terbentuk. Hasil pengujian kekuatan geser menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kuat arus hingga titik optimum akan meningkatkan kekuatan sambung karena pembentukan nugget yang lebih besar dan sempurna. Analisis struktur makro dan mikro lebih lanjut mengkonfirmasikan perubahan ukuran nugget dan morfologi butir akibat variasi arus, memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang korelasi antara parameter pengelasan dan kualitas sambung. Dalam penelitian ini, spesimen las titik dibuat dengan variasi arus pengelasan 13000 A, 14000 A, dan 15000 A, sementara parameter lain seperti waktu pengelasannya 2,5 detik, dan tekanan elektroda 4,6 kN. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam optimasi proses spot welding untuk aplikasi industri. Kata kunci : Pengelasan titik, Arus pengelasan, Kekuatan geser, Kekerasan, Struktur Makro dan Struktur Mikro / This study aims to comprehensively analyze the effect of spot welding current variation on the mechanical and metallurgical properties of the joint in LOW CARBON STEEL SPCC 590. The main objective of the study is to understand how the variation of electric current affects the quality of the weld joint. Spot welding is a widely used joining method in the automotive and manufacturing industries, so a thorough understanding of its parameter optimization is crucial to ensure the quality of the joint. The resistance spot welding method was chosen because of its efficiency in joining sheet metal. In this study, tensile-shear tests were carried out to evaluate the joint strength, Rockwell hardness tests to measure the hardness of the weld nugget, Heat-Affected Zone (HAZ), and base material, as well as macro and micro structural analysis to observe the nugget morphology, grain size, and phase formed. The results of the shear strength test indicate that increasing the current strength to the optimum point will increase the joint strength due to the formation of larger and more perfect nuggets. Further macro and micro structural analysis confirmed the changes in nugget size and grain morphology due to current variation, providing a deeper understanding of the correlation between welding parameters and joint quality. In this study, spot welding specimens were made with variations of welding current of 13000 A, 14000 A, and 15000 A, while other parameters such as welding time were 2.5 seconds, and electrode pressure was 4.6 kN. This study is expected to contribute to the optimization of the spot welding process for industrial applications.
