Abstract

Pangihutan, Posman 2025, ANALISIS NILAI-NILAI DALIHAN NA TOLU SEBAGAI FALSAFAH HIDUP SUKU BATAK TOBA DALAM PERSPEKTIF PENDIDIKAN AGAMA KRISTEN DI GEREJA MELALUI PROSES KATEKISASI SIDI PADA PEMUDA REMAJA HKBP Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemuda remaja HKBP memaknai falsafah hidup suku Batak Toba Dalihan Na Tolu, apakah materi Dalihan Na Tolu dan nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalanya dalam perspektif pendidikan agama kristen mereka dapatkan melalui program katekisasi sidi dan bagaimana gereja menerapkan dan mensosialisasikan nilai-nilai Dalihan Na Tolu dalam upaya pelestarian falsafah Dalihan Na Tolu. Latar belakang penelitian ini, memudarnya unsur-unsur budaya Batak, baik karena faktor lingkungan karena tinggal di perantauan maupun faktor keimanan yang menganggap Dalihan Na Tolu bertentangan dengan iman Kristen. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Gereja HKBP Jatiwaringin, Jakarta dan Gereja HKBP Depok 1, Jawa Barat. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif metode etnografi. Data primer didapatkan melalui wawancara tatap muka dengan beberapa nara sumber di kedua lokasi penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemuda remaja HKBP tahu bahwa Dalihan Na Tolu adalah falsafah hidup suku Batak Toba, namun kedalaman pemahaman mereka terhadap nilai-nilai dan penerapan Dalihan Na Tolu masih kurang, sehingga perlu adanya upaya untuk memperdalam pemaknaan mereka khususnya dari perspektif pendidikan Agama Kristen. Di HKBP Jatiwaringin, materi Dalihan Na Tolu disampaikan secara sekilas dan lebih banyak bersifat teoretis, sehingga perlu ditambah waktu untuk menyampaikan materi ini agar pemahaman peserta katekisasi sidi lebih mendalam. Di HKBP Depok 1, materi Dalihan Na Tolu bahkan lebih minim, hanya disampaikan sekilas, dan dianggap masih sangat kurang. HKBP Jatiwaringin telah berupaya menerapkan dan mensosialisasikan nilai-nilai Dalihan Na Tolu melalui ibadah inkulturatif dan seminar budaya, sementara HKBP Depok 1 belum ada program khusus yang dirancang untuk menerapkan dan mensosialisasikan nilai nilai Dalihan Na Tolu kepada jemaat. Berdasarkan kondisi di atas dibutuhkan pengajar katekisasi sidi yang memiliki pemahaman yang komprehensif tentang falsafah Dalihan Na Tolu, dan juga ditingkatkan durasi dalam menyampaikan materi Dalihan Na Tolu dalam program katekisasi sidi dengan memperkuat integrasi nilai-nilai Dalihan Na Tolu dilihat dari perspektif pendidikan Agama kristen, dengan harapan dapat memperkuat karakter spiritual remaja dari dua sisi, agama dan budaya. Peneliti menyarakan perlunya HKBP Pusat untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran katekisasi sidi yang menjadi acuan bagi seluruh gereja HKBP, dan HKBP Pusat perlu memberikan fleksibilitas kepada gereja-gereja lokal untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran yang berfokus pada kearifan lokal. Kata kunci: Dalihan Na Tolu, HKBP, Katekisasi Sidi, Pemuda Remaja, Batak Toba / Pangihutan, Posman 2025, AN ANALYSIS OF THE VALUES OF DALIHAN NA TOLU AS THE LIFE PHILOSOPHY OF THE BATAK TOBA ETHNIC GROUP FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN THE CHURCH THROUGH THE SIDI CATECHISM PROCESS AMONG HKBP YOUTHS. This study aims to explore how HKBP youths interpret Dalihan Na Tolu as the life philosophy of the Batak Toba people, whether the content and values of Dalihan Na Tolu are conveyed to them through the Christian religious education curriculum in the Sidi catechism program, and how the church implements and promotes these values in its efforts to preserve the Dalihan Na Tolu philosophy. The background of the study stems from the gradual decline of Batak cultural elements, influenced both by environmental factors such as migration, and theological perceptions that Dalihan Na Tolu may conflict with Christian beliefs. The research was conducted at HKBP Jatiwaringin Church in Jakarta and HKBP Depok 1 Church in West Java. A qualitative ethnographic approach was employed, with primary data obtained through face-to-face interviews with informants at both research locations. The findings indicate that while HKBP youths are aware of Dalihan Na Tolu as the philosophical foundation of Batak Toba culture, their depth of understanding and practical application remains limited. Therefore, greater efforts are needed to deepen their comprehension, particularly from the perspective of Christian religious education. At HKBP Jatiwaringin, Dalihan Na Tolu is only briefly mentioned and mostly theoretical in nature, suggesting a need to allocate more time to this topic for deeper catechetical understanding. At HKBP Depok 1, the material is even more minimal, only briefly touched upon, indicating a significant gap in delivery. HKBP Jatiwaringin has taken steps to implement and socialize the values of Dalihan Na Tolu through inculturative worship and cultural seminars, while HKBP Depok 1 has yet to develop any specific programs to promote these values within the congregation. Given these conditions, there is a need for Sidi catechism instructors who possess a comprehensive understanding of the Dalihan Na Tolu philosophy, along with an extension of instructional time for this subject within the catechism program. This should be accompanied by stronger integration of Dalihan Na Tolu values within the framework of Christian religious education, with the aim of strengthening the spiritual character of youth from both religious and cultural perspectives. The researcher recommends that HKBP Headquarters develop a standardized Sidi catechism learning module to be used across all HKBP churches, while also allowing local churches the flexibility to create contextualized modules that incorporate local wisdom.
