Abstract
Program pembelajaran berbasis komputer banyak digunakan oleh banyak lembaga dan perusahaan pendidikan. Guru harus dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mereka untuk menggunakan teknologi dalam memenuhi kebutuhan belajar siswa. Edmodo, sebagai salah satu dari banyak alternatif, yang memfasilitasi proses pembelajaran siswa dan guru. Penelitian ini berfokus pada efektivitas penggunaan Edmodo sebagai alat pelengkap dalam proses pembelajaran di Universitas Kristen Indonesia Jakarta berdasarkan persepsi siswa. Untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian, data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner tertutup dan terbuka yang dimodifikasi dari Enriquez (2014) dan dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan metode kualitatif. Empat puluh mahasiswa dari Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Kristen Indonesia, yang telah diajarkan menggunakan Edmodo selama minimal satu semester, pada akhir semester genap tahun akademik 2018/2019, diminta untuk mengisi kuesioner. Berdasarkan temuan dan diskusi, hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden setuju bahwa Edmodo adalah alat pelengkap yang efektif untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran tatap muka di Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Kristen Indonesia, Jakarta. Untuk selanjutnya, walaupun ada banyak manfaat dalam menggunakan Edmodo untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran, perbaikan masih diperlukan untuk ke depannya. The computer-based learning platforms are widely used by lots of educational institutions and companies. Teachers then should be able to improve their ability to use technology to fulfill students’ learning needs. Edmodo, as one of many number of alternatives, facilitates both students and lecturer in teaching and learning process. This study focuses on the effectiveness of using Edmodo as a complementary tool in learning process in Universitas Kristen Indonesia Jakarta based on the students’ perception. To attain the objective, the data were collected through close-ended and open-ended questionnaire which was modified from Enriquez (2014) and were analyzed using qualitative methods approach. Forty college students of the English Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Kristen, who had been taught using Edmodo at least for one semester, at the end of the even semester of 2018/2019 Academic Year, were asked to respond the questionnaire. Based on the findings and discussions, the results showed that most of the respondents agreed that Edmodo is an effective complementary tool for support face-to-face learning process in English Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Kristen Indonesia, Jakarta. Furthermore, although there are many benefits in using Edmodo to support learning process, the improvement is still needed in the future.
