Abstract

Sistem Presensi konvensional masih rentan terhadap manipulasi data dan kesalahan pencatatan, terutama di lingkungan pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun purwarupa Smart Attendance System berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) dengan kombinasi identifikasi melalui RFID dan pengenalan wajah, serta integrasi ke aplikasi Telegram sebagai sistem notifikasi kehadiran mahasiswa secara real-time. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode kuantitatif, yang mencakup studi literatur dan observasi langsung sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Data yang terkumpul akan dianalisis untuk mendapatkan kesimpulan. Sistem ini terdiri dari mikrokontroler WeMos D1 R32 ESP32 sebagai pusat kendali, modul RFID MFRC-522 untuk membaca UID dari berbagai jenis smartcard, dan ESP32-CAM untuk pengambilan foto wajah. Hasil Presensi dikirimkan ke Google Sheets dan Telegram, mencakup data nama, NIM, waktu, dan foto mahasiswa. Pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu membaca smartcard hingga jarak 3,5 cm dengan tingkat keberhasilan tinggi, serta mengirimkan notifikasi secara akurat. Sistem juga dilengkapi LCD dan buzzer sebagai umpan balik lokal. Purwarupa ini berhasil menunjukkan efektivitas, efisiensi, dan akurasi tinggi dalam proses Presensi, serta dapat menjadi solusi praktis dalam meningkatkan keamanan dan transparansi data kehadiran di institusi pendidikan. Kata Kunci : Presensi Pintar, ESP32-CAM, IoT, RFID, Smartcard./Conventional attendance systems are still prone to data manipulation and recording errors, especially in educational environments. This study aims to design and develop a prototype of a Smart Attendance System based on the Internet of Things (IoT) that combines RFID identification and facial recognition technology, integrated with Telegram for real-time student attendance notifications. This research will adopt quantitative methods, which include literature studies and direct observation as data collection techniques. The collected data will be analyzed to draw conclusions. The system uses the WeMos D1 R32 ESP32 microcontroller as the control center, MFRC-522 RFID module for reading UID from various types of smartcards, and ESP32-CAM for facial image capture. Attendance data—including name, student ID (NIM), timestamp, and face photo—is automatically sent to both Google Sheets and Telegram. Test results show the system can read smartcards up to a distance of 3.5 cm with high accuracy and can successfully send attendance records in real time. LCD and buzzer are added for local feedback. This prototype demonstrates improved effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy, offering a practical solution to enhance security and transparency in student attendance management.
