Abstract

Hiperbola merupakan bahasa yang kuat digunakan untuk mengekspresikan emosi, atau menambah daya tarik dalam berkomunikasi. Penerjemahan adalah perubahan bahasa dari bahasa sumber ke bahasa target yang disesuaikan dengan pemahaman konteks, budaya dan tujuan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memberitahukan bahwa terdapat bebrapa jenis hiperbola dan metode penerjemahan yang terdapat dalam lirik lagu yang mengandung hiperbola. Dasar penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan melalui pengumpulan data, mengidentifikasi hiperbola, menganalisis metode penerjemahan, dan penarikan kesimpulan data. Analisis ini dilakukan berdasarkan teori dari Claridge dan x. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan 5 jenis hiperbola yang ada pada album lagu tersebut yang terdiri atas 8 hiperbola clausal, 3 hiperbola comparison, 2 hiperbola phrasal, 1 hiperbola numerical, dan 1 hiperbola superlative. Kemudian peneliti menemukan 4 jenis metode penerjemahan yang ada pada album lagu tersebut yaitu terdiri atas 5 penerjemahan literal, 5 penerjemahan communicative, 3 penerjemahan bebas, dan 2 penerjemahan semantic. Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa hiperbola clausal paling dominan dalam album Nicole, menunjukkan bahwa lirik lagu cenderung menggunakan pernyataan yang lebih kompleks dan naratif untuk melebih-lebihkan emosi atau situasi. Metode penerjemahan yang paling sering digunakan adalah penerjemahan lilteral, yang menjaga bentuk dan makna asli hiperbola tapa menghilangkan gaya personal penulis lagu. Harapan supaya penelitian ini bermanfaat bagi pembaca, pendengar lagu-lagu Niki, dan sarana referensi peneliti lainnya, sehingga memungkinkan pembaca dapat memahami jenis hiperbola dan jenis metode penerjemahan yang terdapat pada album lagu Niki./Hyperbole is a powerful language used to express emotion or to add interest to communication. Translation is a change of language from the source language to the target language that is adapted to the understanding of context, culture, and purpose. This research was conducted to inform that there are several types of hyperbole and translation methods contained in song lyrics containing hyperbole. The basis of this research is using a descriptive qualitative method by collecting data, identifying hyperbole, analyzing translation methods, and drawing conclusions. The analysis of this research is based on the theory of hyperbole from Claridge and Newmark. The result of this study found 5 types of hyperbole in the song albums, consisting of 8 clausal hyperboles, 3 comparison hyperboles, 2 phrasal hyperboles, 1 numerical hyperbole, and 1 superlative hyperbole. Then the researcher found 4 types of translation methods in the song album, consisting of 5 literal translations, 5 communicative translations, 3 free translations, and 2 semantic translations. This research shows that phrasal hyperbole is most dominant in Nicole’s album, showing that song lyrics tend to use more complex and narrative statements to overstate emotions or situations. The most frequently used translation method is literal, which preserves the original form and meaning of the hyperbole without losing the songwriter’s personal style. As for the hope that this research is useful for readers, listeners of Niki’s song, and as a reference for other researchers, thus enables readers to understand the types of hyperbole and types of translation methods contained in Niki’s song album.
