Abstract

Diplomasi ekonomi Indonesia dalam era Kabinet Indonesia Maju periode 2019- 2024 menghadapi tantangan kompleks dalam mewujudkan kepentingan nasional di kancah internasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas kinerja duta besar karier dan non-karier dalam mendukung strategi diplomasi ekonomi Indonesia. Permasalahan utama yang dikaji adalah komparasi pencapaian kedua jalur diplomat tersebut dalam menjalankan kepentingan nasional di bidang ekonomi. Penelitian menggunakan teori efektivitas organisasi Gibson, Donnely, dan Ivancevich serta konsep diplomasi ekonomi dari Woolcock dan Bayne untuk menganalisis kinerja diplomat. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan sumber data sekunder meliputi dokumen resmi pemerintah, laporan Kementerian Luar Negeri, publikasi ilmiah, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas tidak ditentukan semata oleh status karir, melainkan oleh kecocokan strategi diplomatik dengan konteks lingkungan negara akreditasi. / Indonesia’s economic diplomacy during the era of the Kabinet Indonesia Maju (2019–2024) has faced complex challenges in advancing national interests on the global stage. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of career and non- career ambassadors in supporting Indonesia’s economic diplomacy strategies. The central issue examined is a comparison of the achievements of both types of diplomats in advancing national economic interests. The study employs the organizational effectiveness theory of Gibson, Donnelly, and Ivancevich, as well as the concept of economic diplomacy developed by Woolcock and Bayne, to assess diplomatic performance. The research methodology adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing secondary data sources including official government documents, reports from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, academic publications, and interviews. The findings indicate that effectiveness is not solely determined by career status, but rather by the alignment of diplomatic strategies with the contextual dynamics of the host country.
