Abstract

Video dokumenter ini membahas kekuatan audio visual dalam menggambarkan upaya pelestarian kebudayaan suku Osing melalui dokumenter berjudul The Voices of Osing. Fokus utama pada video dokumenter ini berada pada penggunaan komposisi shot size serta audio ambience dalam membangun narasi kebudayaan secara visual. Penulis sebagai sutradara menggunakan audio ambience dari aktivitas kebudayaan seperti Mocoan Lontar Yusup, Tabuan Bonang, Tari Gandrung, dan lainnya untuk memberikan efek imersif. Sementara itu, penggunaan variasi shot size seperti Wide Shot, Medium Shot, dan Close-up digunakan untuk mempertegas narasi visual yang mendukung pemaknaan dari kebudayaan suku Osing. Kombinasi antara variasi shot size dan penggunaan audio ambience yang tepat mampu meningkatkan kedalaman pesan visual serta membangun keterlibatan emosional penonton dengan bantuan efek imersif. Pada akhirnya, dokumenter The Voices of Osing ini bukan hanya sebagai media informasi mengenai kebudayaan suku Osing, melainkan juga sebagai sarana komunikasi antarbudaya yang efektif dalam menyampaikan pesan mengenai pentingnya upaya pelestarian budaya daerah sebagai warisan lokal yang luhur. Kata kunci : Dokumenter, Suku Osing, Pelestarian Budaya, Audio Ambience, Shot Size/ This documentary video discusses the power of audio visuals in depicting efforts to preserve the culture of the Osing tribe through a documentary entitled The Voices of Osing. The main focus of this documentary video is on the use of shot size composition and audio ambience in building a visual cultural narrative. The author as the director uses audio ambience from cultural activities such as Mocoan Lontar Yusup, Tabuan Bonang, Gandrung dance, and others to provide an immersive effect. Meanwhile, the use of variations in shot sizes such as Wide Shots, Medium Shots, and Close-ups are used to emphasize the visual narrative that supports the meaning of the Osing tribe's culture. The combination of variations in shot size and the use of appropriate audio ambience can increase the depth of the visual message and build emotional involvement of the audience with the help of an immersive effect. Ultimately, this documentary The Voices of Osing is not only a medium of information about the culture of the Osing tribe, but also an effective means of intercultural communication in conveying messages about the importance of efforts to preserve regional culture as a noble local heritage.
