Abstract

Maria Indriawati Soebroto, Pengaruh Motivasi Dan Peranan Orang Tua Terhadap Minat Siswa SMP ke SMK Don Bosco, Di Sumba Barat Daya : Program Studi Magister Administrasi Pendidikan, 2024. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh motivasi siswa dan peranan orang tua terhadap minat siswa SMP untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Don Bosco di Sumba Barat Daya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei, yang melibatkan 140 siswa dari 3 SMP swasta yang berlokasi berdekatan dengan SMK Don Bosco sebagai responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen kusioner dengan model Likert dengan analisis regresi linear sederhana dan berganda untuk mengukur tingkat motivasi siswa, dukungan orang tua, dan minat siswa dalam melanjutkan pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Pengaruh motivasi terhadap minat siswa diperoleh koefisien determinasi (R Square) sebesar 0,541. Artinya motivasi memiliki konstribusi sebesar 54,1% terhadap variasi minat siswa SMP ke SMK Don Bosco di SBD. (2) Pengaruh Peran Orang Tua terhadap minat siswa SMP ke SMK Don Bosco di SBD. diperoleh koefisien determinasi (R Square) sebesar 0,845. Artinya peran orang tua memiliki konstribusi sebesar 84,5%, terhadap variasi minat siswa SMP ke SMK Don Bosco di SBD. (3) Motivasi dan peran orang tua secara bersama-sama mempengaruhi secara signifikan Minat Siswa SMP ke SMK Don Bosco,di SBD sebesar 0,849. Artinya motivasi dan peran orang tua secara bersama-sama mempengaruhi Minat Siswa SMP ke SMK Don Bosco,di SBD sebesar 84,9% Kata kunci: Motivasi Siswa, Peranan Orang Tua, Minat Siswa. / Maria Indriawati Soebroto, The Influence of Motivation and Parental Role on Junior High School Students' Interest in Don Bosco Vocational School in Southwest Sumba: Master's Program in Educational Administration, 2024. This study aims to analyse the influence of student motivation and parental involvement on the interest of junior high school students to continue their education to Don Bosco Vocational School in Southwest Sumba. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach, involving 140 students from 3 private junior high schools located near Don Bosco Vocational School as respondents. This study uses a Likert scale questionnaire as an instrument, with simple and multiple linear regression analysis to measure the levels of student motivation, parental support, and students' interest in continuing their education. The results of the study show that (1) The influence of motivation on student interest is shown by a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.541. This means that motivation contributes 54.1% to the variation in student interest in continuing education to Don Bosco Vocational School in Southwest Sumba. (2) The influence of parental involvement on student interest in continuing education to Don Bosco Vocational School is shown by a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.845. This indicates that parental involvement contributes 84.5% to the variation in student interest. (3) Both motivation and parental involvement together have a significant effect on the interest of junior high school students to continue to Don Bosco Vocational School in Southwest Sumba, with a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.849, meaning they contribute 84.9% to student interest.
