Abstract
Diabetes tipe 2 adalah masalah kesehatan yang disebabkan oleh ketidakmampuan pankreas untuk memproduksi insulin dalam jumlah yang cukup untuk mengatur gula darah. Ini mengakibatkan kadar gula dalam aliran darah meningkat. Tujuan: melaksanakan asuhan keperawatan dengan menerapkan kepatuhan diet pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 guna menurunkan kadar glukosa darah. Metode: metode studi kasus ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif yang dikembangkan melalui analisis studi kasus. Tindakan yang dilakukan meliputi penyuluhan mengenai kepatuhan pada diet, pemantauan kadar gula darah secara rutin, serta pemberian cairan dan obat oral kepada dua pasien yang terdiagnosis diabetes melitus tipe 2. Hasil: studi kasus ini menunjukkan bahwa setelah menjalani diet diabetes selama tiga hari, kadar gula darah pasien menurun pada pasien 1 220 mg/dl menjadi 135 mg/dl sedangkan pada pasien 2 400mg/dl menjadi 335 mg/dl dan sensasi kesemutan di kaki juga berkurang. Kesimpulan: disarankan agar keluarga pasien dapat memberikan motivasi, dorongan serta semangat kepada pasien dalam menjalankan diet DM. Peran perawat dalam mengobservasi pasien selama di rumah sakit juga dibutuhkan dalam pengelolahan penyakit diabetes melitus tipe 2. Kata kunci: Diabetes mellitus tipe 2, diet, kadar glukosa darah. / Type 2 diabetes is a health problem caused by the inability of the pancreas to produce enough insulin to regulate blood sugar. This results in an increased level of sugar in the bloodstream. Objective: Carry out nursing care by implementing dietary compliance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus to reduce blood glucose levels. Methods: This research method uses a descriptive approach developed through case study analysis. Actions taken included counseling on dietary adherence, regular monitoring of blood sugar levels, and administration of oral fluids and medications to two patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Results: The study revealed that after three days of diabetes diet education, the patients' blood glucose levels decreased in patient 1 from 220 mg/dl to 135 mg/dl and in patient 2 from 400 mg/dl to 335 mg/dl and the numbness in their feet decreased. Conclusion: It is recommended that patients' families provide motivation, encouragement, and support to the patients in adhering to the diabetes diet. The role of nurses in observing patients during their hospital stay is also essential in managing type 2 diabetes mellitus. Keywords: Type 2 diabetes, diet, blood glucose levels.
