Abstract

Penerjemahan perumpamaan Alkitab mempunyai tantangan yang signifikan karena konteks budaya, sejarah, dan spiritual yang kaya, yang harus dikomunikasikan dengan hati-hati untuk mempertahankan makna yang dimaksudkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan dalam 27 perumpamaan dari Injil Lukas dengan menggunakan teknik penerjemahan oleh Varney dan Darbelnet yang terdiri atas Borrowing, Calque, Literal Translation, Transposition, Modulation, Equivalence, dan Adaptation. Teknik-teknik ini memberikan pendekatan struktural terhadap proses penerjemahan yang kompleks sambil mempertahankan pesan aslinya. Menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa semua perumpamaan yang dipilih di dalam penelitian ini diterjemahkan menggunakan kombinasi lebih dari satu teknik dalam setiap perumpamaan yang menunjukkan kompleksitas menerjemahkan teks-teks agama. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan Borrowing sebanyak 2 kali, Calque sebanyak 7 kali, Literal Translation 6 kali, Transposition 15 kali, Modulation 14 kali, Equivalence 7 kali, dan Adaptation sebanyak 8 kali. Kata kunci: Teknik terjemahan Varney and Darbelnet, perumpamaan, Injil Lukas. / Translating Biblical parables poses significant challenges due to the rich cultural, historical, and spiritual context that must be carefully communicated to preserve the intended meaning. This study aims to identify the translation techniques used in 27 parables from the Gospel of Luke, employing the translation methods proposed by Vinay and Darbelnet, which include Borrowing, Calque, Literal Translation, Transposition, Modulation, Equivalence, and Adaptation. These techniques provide a structural approach to the complex process of translation while maintaining the original message. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method. Analysis reveals that all the selected parables in this study were translated using a combination of more than one technique for each parable, highlighting the complexity of translating religious texts. The results of this study indicate the use of Borrowing 2 times, Calque 7 times, Literal Translation 6 times, Transposition 15 times, Modulation 14 times, Equivalence 7 times, and Adaptation 8 times.
