Abstract

Penggunaan energi angin sebagai pembangkit listrik yang lebih dikenal kincir angin (wind turbine) telah menjadi salah satu energi alternatif dalam mengatasi masalah krisis energi didunia. Rancangan jumlah sudu pada kincir angin poros horizontal dibuat dan dilakukan dengan proses pemasangan beberapa jumlah sudu-sudu yang didukung oleh proses optimasi aerodinamika yang menyertakan kecepatan angin, jumlah dan profil sudu dan kecepatan rotor. Bentuk optimum yang dibuat adalah empat persegi panjang atau lebih dikenal trapesium sama sisi. Hasil pengujian turbin menunjukkan bahwa dari bentuk sudu trapesium sama sisi dan beberapa jumlah sudu yang diteliti yaitu 6 dan 12 sudu didapatlah nilai putaran pada jumlah sudu 6 blade lebih besar dari jumlah sudu 12 blade, selain itu nilai efisiensi pemanfaatan angin yang lebih besar adalah pada 6 jumlah sudu sehingga pada jumlah sudu 6 blade akan menghasilkan nilai daya yang optimal daripada nilai daya pada jumlah sudu 12 blade. Kemudian setelah dilakukan pengujian putaran kincir angin tanpa beban ternyata bisa menghasilkan putaran hingga 76.8 rpm. Setelah diberikan beban untuk menyalakan lampu sebanyak 5 buah dengan masing-masing 5 watt ( total 25 watt), didapat nilai putaran mencapai 54.3 rpm. Kata kunci : wind turbine, analisa jumlah sudu, bentuk sudu trapesium sama sisi. / The use of wind energy as a power plant, better known windmills (wind turbine) has become one of the alternative energy in addressing the world's energy crisis. The design of the number of blades on a horizontal axis windmill created and performed by the installation process some number of blades that is supported by aerodynamic optimization process which includes wind speeds, and the number and speed of the rotor blade profile. The optimum shape is made rectangular or better known equilateral trapezoid. The test results turbines showed that of the shape of the blade trapezoidal equilateral and some number of blades studied were 6 and 12 blade didapatlah value of rotation on the number of blade 6 blade is greater than the number of blade 12 blade, in addition to the value of the efficiency of the utilization of larger wind is at 6 the amount of the blade so that the number of blades 6 blades will produce optimal power value than the value of the number of blades 12 blade. Then after testing round windmill without load it could generate up to 76.8 rpm rotation. Having given load to turn on the lights as much as 5 pieces with each 5 watt (25 watts total), obtained the value of rotation reaches 54.3 rpm.
