Abstract
Hibualamo secara harafiah berarti “rumah besar” sebagai tempat masyarakat adat Tobelo di Kabupaten Halmahera Utara, Provinsi Maluku Utara, untuk bermusyawarah. Hibualamo tidak sekedar bangunan fisik, namun juga memiliki filosofi dan nilai-nilai luhur kehidupan yang diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi. Nilai-nilai Hibualamo juga terbukti mampu menyatukan masyarakat Halmahera Utara yang mengalami konflik terkait perbedaan agama pada tahun 1999-2000. Meskipun menjadi identitas bagi masyarakat di Halmahera Utara, namun nilai-nilai Hibualamo saat ini semakin luntur. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Bulan September hingga Desember 2023 di Tobelo dengan lokus SMA Kristen Tobelo yang memiliki mata pelajaran seni budaya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis penyebab lunturnya nilai Hibualamo, untuk menganalisis linearitas nilai Hibualamo dengan nilai Kristiani, untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis upaya melestarikan nilai budaya Hibualamo, untuk menganalisis keterbatasan ruang lingkup mata pelajaran seni budaya memuat nilai Hibualamo, serta untuk menganalisis dan mensintesis model Pendidikan karakter siswa SMA Kristen Tobelo berbasis nilai budaya Hibualamo yang linear dengan nilai Kristen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui studi pustaka, observasi dan wawancara secara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lunturnya nilai-nilai Hibualamo dipengaruhi oleh modernisasi, minimnya wadah untuk belajar nilai-nilai Hibualamo serta lemahnya dukungan kebijakan pemerintah daerah. Hibualamo memiliki nilai-nilai yang linear dengan nilai Kristenseperti o dora atau kasih sayang, o diai atau kebenaran dan o baliara atau kepedulian. Terdapat pula tradisi yang tidak sesuai dengan nilai Kristen seperti “maso minta” atau meminang yang memungkinkan pasangan bisa hidup bersama seperti suami istri meskipun belum diberkati Gereja. Upaya pelestarian nilai Hibualamo umumnya dilakukan melalui kegiatan seni budaya. Nilai-nilai Hibualamo tidak termuat dalam mata pelajaran di sekolah seperti mata pelajaran seni budaya sehingga pengaruhnya sangat kecil terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa. Sekolah berbasis pendidikan nilai Hibualamo dapat menjadi solusi untuk membentuk karakter siswa sekaligus untuk melestarikan nilai luhur Hibualamo. Kata Kunci: Karakter, Linear, Nilai Hibualamo, Seni Budaya. / Hibualamo literally means "big house" as a place for the Tobelo traditional community in North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province, for deliberation. Hibualamo is not just a physical building, but also has a philosophy and noble values of life that have been passed down from generation to generation. Hibualamo's values were also proven to be able to unite the people of North Halmahera who experienced conflict related to religious differences in 1999-2000. Even though it has become an identity for the people of North Halmahera, Hibualamo values are currently fading. This research was carried out from September to December 2023 in Tobelo at Tobelo Christian High School which has arts and culture subjects. The aim of this research is to analyze the causes of the fading of Hibualamo values, to analyze the linearity of Hibualamo values with Christian values, to describe and analyze efforts to preserve Hibualamo cultural values, to analyze the limited scope of cultural arts subjects containing Hibualamo values, and to analyze and synthesize educational models towards the character of Tobelo Christian High School students based on Hibualamo cultural values which are linear with Christian values. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method through literature study, observation and interviews using purposive sampling. The research results show that the decline of Hibualamo values is influenced by modernization, the lack of a place to learn Hibualamo values and weak support from local government policies. Hibualamo has values that are linear with Christian values such as o dora or compassion, o diai or truth and o baliara or care. There are also traditions that are not in accordance with Christian values, such as "maso asking" or proposing marriage which allowscouples to live together like husband and wife even though they have not been blessed by the Church. Efforts to preserve Hibualamo values are generally carried out through arts and culture activities. Hibualamo's values are not included in schoolsubjects such as arts and culture subjects so they have very little influence on the formation of students' character. Schools based on Hibualamo values education canbe a solution to shape student character as well as to preserve the noble values of Hibualamo.
