Abstract
Candida albicans merupakan jamur berbentuk khamir yang paling banyak menyebabkan penyakit kandidiasis. Bentuk morfologi C. albicans terdapat blastospora, hifa, pseudohifa, filamen, dan klamidospora. Jamur ini sering ditemukan sebagai flora normal di tubuh manusia seperti di saluran pencernaan, saluran pernapasan, vagina, uretra, kulit, dan di bawah jari kuku. Candida albicans jarang menyebabkan penyakit pada individu yang imunokompeten, namun dapat menyebabkan infeksi jika dipengaruhi faktor endogen dan faktor eksogen. Pemberian senyawa nitrit oksida (NO) telah diteliti sebagai salah satu pengobatan terhadap infeksi C. albicans. Zat ini dihasilkan oleh sel imun sebagai zat toksik bagi mikroorganisme patogen. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode ulasan literatur sistematik untuk menganalisis artikel-artikel penelitian eksperimental mengenai efek pemberian senyawa NO terhadap C. albicans. Didapatkan 171 artikel dari pencarian “nitric oxide effect AND Candida albicans”, selanjutnya diambil 17 artikel yang sesuai dengan karakteristik, kriteria inklusi, dan kriteria eksklusi. Data diolah ke dalam tabel dan diagram menggunakan Microsoft Word dan Excel 2013. Hasil penelitian didapatkan efek pemberian berbagai senyawa NO terhadap penurunan konsentrasi (viabilitas), hambatan pertumbuhan, penurunan pembentukan biofilm, penurunan adhesi, dan mempengaruhi morfogenesis C. albicans. Kata kunci: Candida albicans, nitrit oksida, kandidiasis. / Candida albicans is a yeast-shaped fungus that causes the most candidiasis. The morphological form of C. albicans contains blastospores, hyphae, pseudohyphae, filaments, and chlamidospores. This fungus is often found as normal flora in the human body such as in the digestive tract, respiratory tract, vagina, urethra, skin, and under fingernails. Candida albicans rarely cause disease in immunocompetent humans, but can cause infection when influenced by endogenous and exogenous factors. Nitric oxide (NO) has been studied as a treatment against C. albicans infection. This substance is produced by immune cells as a toxic substance for pathogenic microorganisms. This study was conducted using a systematic literature review method to analyze experimental research articles on the effects of NO compounds on C. albicans. There were 171 articles from the search for "nitric oxide effect AND Candida albicans", then 17 articles were taken according to the characteristics, inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria. The data were processed into tables and diagrams using Microsoft Word and Excel 2013. The results showed the effect of giving various NO compounds on decreased concentration (viability), growth inhibition, decreased biofilm formation, decreased adhesion, and influenced the morphogenesis of C. albicans.
