Abstract
Jamur golongan ragi seringkali mengancam kesehatan manusia, salah satunya adalah Cryptococcus spp. Penyebaran infeksi jamur ini dikaitkan dengan kotoran burung merpati. Pada pasar burung Jatinegara burung merpati dijual bebas, pada kandang yang terbuka dan berdekatkan dengan burung burung lain. Hal ini memungkinkan tersebarnya spora dari jamur ragi ke burung lain, sehingga manusia memiliki risiko tinggi untuk terinfeksi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui prevalensi jamur ragi pada burung yang dijual bebas di pasar burung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif lintang potong. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 85 dari 4 spesies burung yang berbeda, yaitu burung Jalak Suren (Sturnus contra), Kecambang gadung (Irena puella), cica-kopi melayu (Pomatorhinus montanus), dan jalak putih (Acridotheres melanopterus). Sample diisolasi pada media Sabouraud Dextrose agar (SDA), dan media Birdseed agar (BSA), lalu diperiksa secara mikroskopis dengan pewarnaan tinta india, laktofenol, dan lactophenol cotton blue. Hasil didapatkan 3 (3,53%) sample yang memiliki morfologi Cryptococcus spp. Burung yang dijual pada pasar burung dapat terkontaminasi oleh jamur ragi, akibat kandang yang terbuka dan berdekatan dengan burung lain. Namun pada penelitian ini tidak dapat menentukan spesies ataupun genus dari jamur ragi yang ditemukan, dikarenakan tahapan identifikasi yang terbatas. Kata kunci: Sturnus contra, Irena puella, Pomatorhinus montanus, Acridotheres melanopterus, tinta india, BSA, SDA. / The yeast fungal often threatens the health of humans, one of them is Cryptococcus spp. The Distribution of this infection was associated with pigeon droppings. At Jatinegara bird market, pigeons are freely on sale, in open cages and close to another birds. This may allow fungal spore spread to another birds, and have high risk infected to humans. The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of yeast fungal in birds who is freely sale on bird market. This study uses a cross-sectional descriptive method. Sample taken as many as 85 from 4 different bird species, that is Asian Pied Starling (Sturnus contra), Asian Fairy Bluebird (Irena puella), Chestnutbacked Scimitar Babbler (Pomatorhinus montanus), and White Starling (Acridotheres melanopetrus). Sample were isolated on Sabouraud Dextrose agar media (SDA), dan Birdseed agar media (BSA), and then checked by microscopically with Indian Ink stain, lacophenol, and lactophenol cotton blue. The results obtained 3 (3,53%) samples which have Cryptococcus spp morphology. Birds who sale on the bird market can be contaminated by yeast fungal. However, in this study could not determine the species or genus of yeast fungal that was found due to limited identification stages.
