Abstract

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) merupakan masalah yang masih sulit ditanggulangi. Gejala asimtomatik yang terjadi pada orang yang terinfeksi HIV menjadi penyulit diagnosis penyakit ini. Banyaknya orang yang memeriksakan dirinya setelah nilai CD4 dibawah 350 sel/ml menyebabkan infeksi oportunistik menjadi kronis dan pengobatan menjadi tidak adekuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik orang dengan HIV/AIDS di Rumah Sakit Umum Universitas Kristen Indonesia. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Data yang diambil merupakan data sekunder yaitu dengan melihat rekam medik pasien di bagian ilmu penyakit dalam Rumah Sakit Umum Universitas Kristen Indonesia periode Januari 2006 - September 2016. Data disajikan dengan menggunakan tabel distribusi frekuensi. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh banyaknya pasien yang memeriksakan dirinya dan memulai terapi ARV adalah 60 orang (92,3%). Semua pasien memulai terapi ARV ketika jumlah sel CD4 ≤350 sel. Infeksi oportunistik yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah kandidiasis sebanyak 32 orang (49,2%). Kata kunci: human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), CD4, infeksi oportunistik, kandidiasis. / Human immunodeficiency virus is a problem which is rather hard to address. The lack of symptoms which happens to HIV-infected person makes diagnosing the disease more difficult. Most people with HIV tend to check themselves after the CD4 count under 350 cells/ml, which leads to chronic opportunistic infections and inadequat therapy. The aim of this research is to understand the characteristic of people with HIV/AIDS at Rumah Sakit Umum Universitas Kristen Indonesia. The design used in this research is the descriptive method. The data taken were secondary data obtained from patients medical records at internal medicine department of Rumah Sakit Umum Universitas Kristen Indonesia period January 2006 – September 2016. Data was presented by using frequency distribution table. Based on the obtained data, the amount of patients who checked themselves and started the ARV therapy were 60 people (92,3 %). All of the patients started ARV therapy when the CD4 count ≤350 cells. Candidiasis was the most commonly found opportunistic infection which was found in 32 people (49,2%).
