Abstract

Komunikasi antarpribadi dapat merujuk pada bagaimana seseorang berhubungan dengan orang-orang di sekitarnya. Hal ini juga terjadi pada kaum homoseksual. Namun dalam kasus kaum homoseksual, hubungan yang dibangun melalui komunikasi interpersonal dalam kondisi dan keadaan yang sedikit berbeda dengan masyarakat Indonesia. Terdapat prasangka dan penolakan terhadap kaum homoseksual sehingga mereka tidak dapat berinteraksi secara terbuka, dan menjalin hubungan serupa pria lurus.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan penjelasan langkah demi langkah tentang pola komunikasi interpersonal yang terjadi dalam hubungan homoseksual dan untuk memudahkan pemahaman ekspresi mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori hubungan lima tahap Joseph A.DeVito. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Kriteria informan adalah sedang atau pernah berhubungan gay, berusia antara 19 sampai dengan 50 tahun, dan anggota dari Komunitas A Generation For Justice. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teori hubungan lima tahap Joseph DeVito dapat menjelaskan dengan jelas proses terbentuknya hubungan antar kaum homoseksual. Selain itu, dengan mengkaji pengaruh motif-motif tertentu yang mendasari terbentuknya hubungan yang berbeda-beda. Kata kunci : Model Lima Tahap DeVito, Komunikasi Antarpribadi, Sesama Jenis. / Interpersonal communication can refer to how a person relates to the people around him. This also happens to homosexuals. However, in the case of homosexuals, relationships are built through interpersonal communication in conditions and circumstances that are slightly different from Indonesian society. There is prejudice and rejection towards homosexuals so that they cannot interact openly, and have relationships similar to straight men. The aim of this research is to provide a step-by-step explanation of the interpersonal communication patterns that occur in homosexual relationships and to facilitate understanding of their expressions. This research uses Joseph A. DeVito's five stage relationship theory. This research method is qualitative. The criteria for informants are currently or have ever had a gay relationship, aged between 19 and 50 years, and members of the A Generation For Justice Community. The results of this research show that Joseph DeVito's five-stage relationship theory can clearly explain the process of forming relationships between homosexuals.
