Abstract
Baik jahe merah maupun jahe emprit memiliki khasiat antibakteri. Kedua ekstrak ini memuat bahan aktif seperti minyak atsiri, flavonoid, gingerol dan fenol yang berperan sebagai penghambat tumbuhnya Staphylococcus aureus. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan efektivitas antibakteri ekstrak jahe merah dan jahe emprit dalam menghambat tumbuhnya bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen in vitro dengan ¬¬metode difusi cakram. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada lima konsentrasi yaitu 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100%. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan rata-rata diameter yang bermakna antara diameter zona hambat ekstrak jahe merah dengan jahe emprit, sebagaimana ditentukan oleh uji-t statistik independen (p<0.05). Selain itu, rata-rata diameter zona hambat ekstrak jahe merah lebih besar daripada jahe emprit pada seluruh konsentrasi. / Both red ginger and emprit ginger have antibacterial properties. Both extracts contain active ingredients such as essential oils, flavonoids, gingerols and phenols which act as inhibitors of the growth of Staphylococcus aureus. The aim of this study was to compare the antibacterial effectiveness of red ginger and emprit ginger extracts in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This study uses an in vitro experimental design with the cakram diffusion method. This study was conducted at five concentrations: 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. The research findings showed a significant difference in the average diameter between the inhibition zone diameter of red ginger extract and emprit ginger, as determined by an independent statistical t-test (p<0.05). In addition, the average diameter of the inhibition zone of red ginger was greater than that of emprit ginger at all concentrations.
