Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) stage 5 is characterized by a decrease in GFR <15 mL / min / 1.73 m2, and is one of the hemodialysis renal replacement therapy to replace some of the functions of renal excretion. Fatigue is the most common complaint felt by patients with hemodialysis. Music therapy is a non-pharmacological therapy can be given to reduce fatigue. This study aims to explain the influence of Natural Relaxation Music therapy to decrease fatigue in patients with CKD Mitra Keluarga Hospital in West Bekasi. This study uses Experiment Quasi-Non-Equivalent Control Group Design, involving 39 respondents consisting of 26 respondents are given the music therapy group intervention with a duration of 20-30 minutes, once a week for 6 weeks and the control group consisted of 13 respondents were given nursing care in accordance with hospital standards. Fatigue evaluation conducted in the first week and the sixth. The sampling technique is consecutive sampling. The results showed the demographic characteristics of the patients in the pre-elderly age <55 years (64.1%), the majority of men (66.7%), low education level (66.7%) and most of the work (59.0% ). Clinical characteristics showed a majority of hemodialysis frequency of 2 times a week (97.4%) with a duration of 4-6 hours (92.3%), respondents are not actively doing physical activity (51.3%), experienced moderate to severe anemia (74.4 %), sleep disorder (82.1%) and depression (66.7%). Wilcoxon statistical test results showed an average decrease of 0.81 exhaustion. Binary logistic regression test results indicate the age of the most influential variables to fatigue (p = 0.046). The study recommends Natural Relaxation Music therapy to reduce patient fatigue and suggestions for management of the hospital so that music therapy as an act of self-nurses in providing nursing care of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease.
