Abstract

Kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan suatu hal yang harus diperhatikan terutama masalah yang paling sering dihadapi adalah karies gigi. Hampir setiap orang mengalami karies gigi, hal ini terjadi karena kurangnya pengetahuan akan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan kesehatan gigi terhadap kejadian karies gigi pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran UKI angkatan 2019. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei dengan metode deskriptif korelasi yang dilakukan pada bulan Januari hingga Februari 2021 dengan total responden 138 orang. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner. Data yang didapat akan dianalisa menggunakan uji korelasi spearman. Hasil penelitian secara keseluruhan tingkat pengetahuan responden termasuk kategori baik, yaitu sekitar 76,1%. Hasil uji korelasi spearman didapat nilai signifikan 0,462 dengan nilai korelasi -0,063, hasil tersebut menunjukkan tidak signifikan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan tidak ada hubungan antara pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dengan kejadian karies gigi. Kata kunci: Pengetahuan, Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut, Karies Gigi. / Oral and dental health is something that must be considered, especially the problem most often faced is dental caries. Almost everyone has dental caries, this happens because a lack of knowledge about oral health. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of dental health knowledge and the incidence of dental caries in students of the Faculty of Medicine UKI class 2019. This research is a descriptive survey research with a descriptive correlation method wich was conducted January to February 2021 with a total of 138 respondents. The instrument in this study was a questionnaire. The results of this study can be concluded that the overall level of respondents knowledge is in the good category, which is around 76,1%. The results of the Spearman correlation test obtained a significant value of 0.462 with a correlation value of -0.063, these results indicate that it is not significant. The results of this study can be concluded that there is no relationship between knowledge of dental health and the incidence of dental caries.
